If you're familiar with Rosalía's discography you know she's prone to reinvention. Yet, with this reinvention, she gave us nothing less than herself. I consider this album a masterpiece and I didn't know a sonic collage like this would be possible, let alone be done with so much artistry that it makes sense from start to finish. The variety of genres it touches could sound catastrophic if Rosalia didn't have such a prominent musical footprint and flexibility. It's fair to say ... read more
Prioritise Pleasure it’s a refreshing, bold, pop album. I don’t think the critics are crazy, I think they listened to it right. Wandering around pop ramifications while hitting us with its core, Rebecca delivered her truth with uncomfortable lyrics and gospel-like choirs accompanied by well textured beats. The title is powerful, the artwork is absolutely beautiful and the promise was both. Halsey's "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power" has strong statements and embodies the horrors of getting what you wanted. I believe this album didn't reach its potential due to its production. Some tracks sound like they were recorded on an iPhone microphone, I couldn't believe I was listening to it on lossless quality. "You asked for this" is the perfect example of how production can make a ... read more
Reinventing ourselves has never been an easy job, not even for extremely talented artists. Kacey Musgraves has done it extremely well with this single. Not to forget this is not only the presentation of a new project but also its opening track. Reinventing ourselves is very much this: a different approach to our unchangeable essence.
The homage to flamenco accompanied by the sweetness of Kacey's voice and country-driven melodies put on display in front of clean and atmospheric production ... read more
