I certainly still haven't heard anything like Brockhampton yet.
This is carrying on the salvo of bangers they started with their first Saturation instalment
The Happy Fits sacrificed a lot of their unique charm to make this record, trading in the wailing vocal inflections and insane cello-rock incorporations for essentially just becoming another indie rock outfit -- that's not to say Under the Shade of Green is bad, because it's actually a great indie rock album with fantastic production and great songwriting, undoubtedly their most mature lyricism to date too. It's just a far cry from what anyone was looking for in their sound and I ... read more
The Happy Fits takes a new approach to their personality-rich sound of theirs, mostly stripping away the folk influence to bask in their indie rock flair. It feels more mature and stable in a way with its consistent pacing and concentrated topics and definitely makes for a better listening experience as a whole record.
Also, if "The Garden" isn't an homage to Vampire Weekend then I'd be frickin dawned.
"She wants me (To Be Loved)" is yet another one of those songs ... read more
Really really strong tracks that build on the artsy folks flare of the rock this band has to offer but I feel like they don't come together as a record very well. That's absolutely fine with me though because I have adored these songs on their own merit for years anyway!
Had Happy Fits in my library for a while but I never sat down to *actually* listen to their catalogue. I was convinced this band was Southern French, like so convinced but I guess not lol
Perfect album for golden hour.
Un shoutout a Post Nebbia 7 anni dopo e ancora sono la unica banda Italiana oltre che Måneskin nella storia recente che creano della musica genuinamente eccezionale

Versatile, hard-hitting, talented and about 3 miles outside of the box
How the hell did they make 3 of these records in one year
Yeah lol, thought y'all were gonna hate this. I remember anticipating this album quite a bit and I thought I'd revisit it to see how it holds up.
The production here is faultless: tactile, fun, experimental and engaging. I can't ignore that in "Candyman" samples the Taco Bell jingle which I found pretty funny. It manages to balance its whimsy with a healthy dose of international influence whilst not feeling bloated - that takes skill and I love that. That being said, ... read more
Hey! It's a fun charming take on metal, I really appreciate System of A Down's sound. I just don't find it as a record to be that enjoyable
Not much of an EDM listenener but when I'm in the mood for it this album is everything I want out of the genre:
- It's self aware
- It's ridiculous and silly
- The album functions more like a single song or mix with 34 sections rather than actual tracks
- It stays in a focused scope without sounding samey
Not bad impression at all for my first Skrillex listen lol
Very interesting genre premise for aure, I can't put my finger down on what it could actually be, it isn't in my vocabulary.
Anyway, it's moody and dark with an american punk rock edge to it - I think the only place where I have heard this exact sound before was on the later part of Djo's DECIDE. Although it does sound pretty nice and I imagine it only gets better if you listen to it in a nocturnal environment, it really does get boring fast which is impressive considering ... read more
doechii pls don't Big Day us take ur time queen
There is so much influence I can hear from prolific rappers of the 2010s: Kendrick, Doja Cat, Tyler just to name a few. And yet... the sound and honest attitude of this record is so unique.
Excellent ideas across the board, charming delivery of singing and rapping, topically solid lyrics and stories.. I can really see the appeal to Chance the Rapper.
Not that terribly produced for a mixtape, but it doesn't sound very clear and sometimes I think Chance lost his way in genre tangents, cause idk why along Time II exists otherwise.
Yuh!

Honestly the most fun I've had listening to an electronic record so far.. it's so free and frankly ahead of its time yet it almost always knows when to not stray too far into the experimental path.
very good very woopy :3
relentless electric psychedelia
This is my last review of Atavista I promise
Atavista is Childish Gambino's fourth studio album. It was initially meant to be the final Gambino Album, with singles such as "This is America" and "Feels like summer" being on the tracklist, however, in its 8 rocky years in development it was never able to take a concrete form until it's definitive, final reissuing in 2024 under the name "Atavista".
But what many Gambino listeners don't know is that ... read more
It's a fun, diverse and honest if braggadocious record, Tyler's most immersive project to date. The best way I could describe the experience of listening to this album is that it feels like spending a summer with Tyler on a Yacht on some lake somewhere in the Alps.
The lyricism is unavoidably braggy - wich would usually turn me off in any kind of music and with plenty of artists - but in the case of "Call me if you get lost" it works perfectly. Firstly because the wealth he ... read more
Starts off with a banger, easily somewhere in the top pop songs of 2016, and ends with a banger. We had strong powerful moments like Six Feet Under, True Colours and False Alarm but then a lot of it isn't bringing an awful lot to the table. It sounds fantastic and does it's job but by Track 12 I was wondering what more this album could possibly offer me. The sad boy RnB angle of The Weeknd gets kinda played out and it loses its impact.
Epic album cover though!
i didnt listen to enough of it to merit rating
all im sayin is if there was a Grammy for best 'professional upstairs neighbour music' then this would win it
