Pretty unique with some bland moments. Amazing vocalist i must say. Pretty decent album.. EP? Whatever It's an album.
Phil Elverum, is one of, if not the best song writer of all time. He couldn't make a bad album if he tried. Mount Eerie from The Microphones (Which he would later adopt this album name for his own solo work) Is great, it's scary and its ethereal. The soundscape is distorted and crunchy and uses the sounds of nature to really pull you into his own fictious world. A lot of people do not talk about Phil's lyrics. Besides the musical and sound content of his albums, his lyrics alone ... read more
Disc 1: I'm in a ride for sure with this. As a fellow guy trying to get into Swans, I should expect the movie length albums, even more so at times. I have to divide it into 2 parts here, by the discs. Michael Gira could be 102 and still kick ass. These songs are so long but yet change so much and have amazing climaxes.
Disc 2: There is so much happening. This record Is so intense yet so good at the same time. THE TITLE TRACK IS INCREDIBLE AND AMAZING AND THIS ALBUM IS ALSO ... read more
Wow. This is one of the most highest rated albums I've ever seen in my life. Luv(sic) Hexalogy from Both Nujabes & Shing02 brings a fresh sound to that old style of boom bap and jazz rap. To my knowledge there were actual musicians used on this rather than just flipping samples like everyone else.
The rapping featured on here is really fresh, with the rapper's unique voice and flows. This record also features some really good lyricism.
Since this album is more live sounding... ... read more
Not as good as Sound of Silver, but still amazing. Does everything an LCD record does. Amazing grooves and weird experimentation.
A beautiful mix of Art rock and calming piano tracks. Such a weird and calming album.
The only thing Red Hot Chili Peppers Self Titled has going for it is Flea. Nothing else is good here. Maybe Anthony should've stuck to writing self incriminating books instead of this horrible singing style here...
Maybe I'm not a fan of screamo, which I can be. Or It could be this "album" is rather generic than the underground emoviolence I actually like. But, the songs I actually do like are about.. 30 seconds long so there's no point to even go back to listen to them. The guitars and drumming mostly are rather generic and uninteresting, same with the vocals.. It's not the worst thing musically but this isn't anything to applaud..
Frances The Mute from The Mars Volta is one of the strangest records I've heard... For sure needs many listens before it really clicks to me.
Loveless from My Bloody Valentine is a strange record for sure. It has a sound that is unlike no other.. The only issue I have/had with it was the mixing. I almost didn't give this a fair chance because of it but I learned to look past it, and now i like how the mixing is done.
Not much to say about this. Not a Title Fight guy at all but this is better than Floral Green.
Is chipmunk soul back in 2026? Even though he may be a new person to the rap scene, and this is his debut.. It's amazing. I'm not sure if Amar produced this all himself but either way it's impressive. All of the beats are well done and capture a modern take of that College Dropout era of rap. But now we have "The Next Bus Stop", "Egotrip" and "The High School Tape" But the best among those three has to be this album right here. It's so fresh ... read more
Mike Krol's "I Hate Jazz" Is a short EP consisting of some indie sounding rock. While this is a fun album I don't rate albums on if they are fun or not, otherwise I would have a lot more high reviews. The guitar and drums on this album are pretty solid I would have to say but his vocals, or the mixing of them are not great. It's like he took one take and stuck with it, no mixing on the vocals, or even treatment for them. But for the fun aspect, It was a fun album to ... read more
Wow. How do you fuck up something that bad. The first two songs. Wonderful, loved them all. But they ruined this album. The vocals in Gebrechlichkeit I were UNBAREABLE. They tried too hard here.. I really think they did. It was so promising man. This album.. as an album wasn't good but at least It had some great songs. Oh one more thing too. Track 5.. That is a snooze fest. Boring, dull and pretentious ambient music with no soul in it. Just a case of adding a long "Experimental" ... read more
Big Fish Theory from Vince Staples is a pleasant surprise. I expect just another generic trap/pop rap record. But instead we got this dance, house, rap fusion that makes you want to dance and move your head to. I see why people say this album is really good. All the beats are amazing same with Vince's rapping. Also Kendrick's on here so...
This has to be one of the most unique hip-hop albums I have heard in my life, reminds me of the current style of Danny Brown but way better and ... read more
Interpol's "Turn on the Bright Lights"... It reminds me of Joy Division and The Strokes but if you took the mid parts of both combined. This album Is nothing I haven't heard before. Nothing really stood out to me on here.
Siamese Dream is another cult classic record. This album can be pretty dull in some regards and the vocalist is the issue with some of these songs being not as good. Not a bad album by any means but failed to live up to the hype for me...
