Taking emocore up a notch, Thursday is not afraid to develop a sound that the independent music scene has been in favor of for quite some time. Full Collapse is a breath of fresh air and has the potential to be liked by fans of harder music everywhere.
Full Collapse is scream-tastic, but that's about it-- it doesn't even stand out in its own miniscule sub-sub-genre.
A very consistent and solid emo hardcore album. While not much blew me away perhaps the best feat this album accomplishes is it's refined focus on making solid textbook definition of emo post hardcore of the early 2000s. Some major highlights on this record that continue the consistency they show on their debut album two years prior, and yet it avoids some of the production flaws that weight their next album down a little bit.
This is a strong slice of early 2000s emo/post-hardcore. For a long time, I got this band and Finch confused, though after listening to this record and their debut back to back, the differences are pretty clear. This record leans much more into emo, and that Finch record doesn't quite as much.
