I had caramel dansen on my ipod as a kid it only makes sense I would somewhat enjoy this. This project is over the top to the point where what started as a general abrasiveness turns into a warm fondness for this project.

Flo Milli shit!
Man.... this is far from what I was expecting from a Flo Milli project. While Flo Milli's music usually is bleeding charisma from all ends, a good majority of the tracks on this project take a much more laid back tone and are honestly just pretty sleepy. Given the first few songs are a bit more high energy even with the iconic "shut the fuck up" producer tag on track 4 this was certainly a bit jarring. Once you get to Never Lose Me, which I do actually enjoy quite a ... read more
Coming off of a recent re-listen of Golden Hour I was happy to see Kacey dropping tonight and to have another excuse to not have to entertain Kanye at all. This album is really a great piece of work and while it may not be able to stand right next to Golden Hour it is pretty up there.
Right out of the gate I was thrown into a tearjerker in the track Cardinal. Ever since losing my father a few years back my significant other would always tell me when she would see a cardinal out in nature it ... read more
Man leave the fucking kids alone... Especially when they can flow better than you can.
Edit 06/06/2024 15 -> 0: Ooops, forgot to drop this piece of dog shit down to the score it deserves.
Well that wasn't what I was expecting!
This project sent me for a total loop. After trying out various projects from Bladee and not quite finding one that clicked with me I certainly was not expecting this one to do the trick. Bladee and Yung Lean join forces to deliver some super grim and spacey performances over shoegaze instrumentation.
Starting with the intro song Coda you get this grand orchestral opening with Yung Lean doing poetic movie narration over the track. Do not be confused ... read more
One of my favorite records from my teenage years. This record does your standard alt-rock with flavors of grunge, punk, and hardcore sprinkled throughout. The singers vocals have a bit of a rasp to them so it may be worth considering an acquired taste. I always admired this project for the way it was able to paint a picture with each song, the sense of storytelling is huge. Also everyone always brings up Don't Hold Back being on Guitar Hero; but, no one ever brings up Don't Hold Back being in ... read more
What a mixed bag compared to the samples I was just listening to.
COMI: Vocally we are a bit buried in the instrumental and just generally sounding sleepy which is a mix of a plus and a minus. The vocals being buried can especially be noticed once the feature comes in. 42/100
Wow Game: The whooshing and pixilation sound effect are cool but mostly indifferent on the vocals. 50/100
Round & Round: By far my favorite on the project. The chopping and panning of the vocals is super dope and ... read more
Super cinematic intro! Is this a movie?
What starts feeling like an eastern time movie about war and conflict turns into spy kids very quickly. I like the little pitter pattering sound going on in the background for this song, very menacing. The synth in the background also makes me feel like I am in space. Something fitting to be on a new Zenon remake.
Well this one is different!
Much more grimy with a huge club feel to it. The two gentlemen accompanying her don't do anything too special but do bring energy with them and it actually surprises me how fitting iiso sounds on this type of instrumentation.
Gives me a hint of pinkpantheress without sounding derivative. I like it. Still needs more though.
Man.... I just wish Eternal Sunshine was as good as this was.
This thing is honestly a mess. I found this artist through the video for What's A L Like? and was hoping for a record of similar sound and quality but I don't think that is the case here. When jeffery is in his laid back mode he is at his best but over slightly more energetic beats you get some of the corniest bars you'll ever hear (see "drink my nut like Capri Sun). These songs are also very incomplete, choruses are not jeffery's strong suit. I was hoping for more of the charisma I was ... read more
Put it in the books, a K-pop album I enjoy!
This thing is sleek and smooth with just the occasional bit of punch. I would have personally loved an album all like the song Blade but I will take what I can get. BIBI has a beautiful voice and when she is over instrumentation to fit her style she sounds great! There are a few points where I slightly tune out like the track Wet Nightmare which just gives me subtle Melanie Martinez flashbacks. Then following that track as well is Witch Hunt which ... read more
Finally got around to listening after having this sit in my liked songs for months. Great listen! J-pop with twists of rock and punk instrumentation. The group must have also been doing their calculus when making this as well because I can see the math in there,
Overall score reflective of the album without the addition of the remix tracks at the end.
Welp, I actually listened to this thing in it's entirety..... Hell here is the proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRQ7DhCdZa0
I always remember Kidz Bop for being the weapon of psychological warfare you could pull out on your least expecting victims for a good laugh. That simply isn't the case anymore, Kidz Bop has moved on to hiring their arsenal of AI vocalists to complete their songs and shred any sense of sincerity or uniqueness that was in the originals. I am not 100% the vocalists ... read more
Ooof. I have this habit of listening to albums I know I would like years later because I am stubborn....
Certainly was the case with this one. Dua Lipa does her usual thing bringing back retro pop sounds in the modern age delivering a hefty handful of fun dance tunes. This reminds me very heavily of when Bruno Mars was terrorizing the charts with Uptown Funk except there were multiple songs off this record that did that. That may be some of the reason why I held off on listening for so long. ... read more
What a fantastic album!
Every song here is packed full of sincere emotion and is enough to bring the toughest cowboy to tears. Every song is so easy to pickup as well! I was familiar with a couple tracks off this project prior to this listen but found myself picking up on the choruses almost immediately. This record certainly leans more on the country end of things rather than pop but I think that soundscape aids immensely in making this record come off even more personable. 10/10, chef's ... read more
We are getting so much closer to deeply enjoying Bladee. I keep pursuing on my quest. This was certainly a good stop on the trip though. I really enjoy Bladee in his more laid back element delivering super atmospheric and airy melodies over spacy instrumentals. Only One was also a huge highlight with its acoustic instrumentation throughout. Overall, nothing I really hated 100s was just a bit over the top for my liking.
And the last one down for Fief. Really enjoyed listening to this artists discography. Really consistent and just great background sound, nothing mind-blowing but I don't really see that being the goal here.
