Fief - IV

So yeah.... I'm really digging this Dungeon Synth stuff. Been listening to it all day.

Fief - I
75

Another one down, Fief I in comparison to Fief II is a little toned down and more consistent than their second work. This record sticks to mostly stringed instruments and tavern like soundscapes. For me I enjoyed it mostly the same but I could see it being a preference match here for others.

Bruhguy3457 - Reality

Sure I'll take a bite!

This thing is at its best cool lofi tunes to study to but otherwise is a mostly empty loop of instrumentals. I at least caught myself rocking my head along to Vaporized, Sunset, and Valley of Ghosts so that is something.

Turns out Dungeon synth is pretty cool. While listening I kept having flashbacks to various videos games I played in the past like Castle Crashers and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thinking this would be perfect background music to play along with those games. Every song here basically sounds exactly like what the title is pointing towards. I will say if these songs were longer I could find this a bit too stagnant to want to just sit and listen to but if you just are going to throw it on and ... read more

Maple Glider - To Enjoy is the Only Thing

Not as impressed with this one as I was with the 2023 release but still a solid listen. The artists voice is really pretty when she puts it out there but on this record she felt much more reserved.

Older single from the artist which sounds nice but still like they were figuring their sound out. Cool bop but nothing exceptional.

Of Mice & Men - The Flood
84

The nostalgia I have for this record, being in a wall of death at warped tour to The Depths is a bit scary.

This thing still goes hard as hell and is probably one of the few records from my earlier years I look back at fondly. I'm a Monster is kind of a poop closer though. Glad the Deluxe came along and fixed things although the intro section got a huge bump and was already stacked. When You Can't Sleep at Night is at least a bit better.

Nice little HyPeRpOp record!

Everything on this project feels very personable and genuine with my only complaint being that some songs feel less complete than the others (see Tethered and Owen Wilson).

Ariana Grande - eternal sunshine

ZzZzZzZ

Not going to lie I wasn't going into this record as optimistically as I normally would for an Ariana album. That being said, I wanted to like what I heard and the first two tracks were definitely convincing me that may be the case. You start with a very simple intro with nice layered vocals painting a good scenery for what was to follow. I will admit this track initially had me a little confused as I heard there was going to be a dance influence on this record and what I was hearing in ... read more

Wyatt James - Fuck Eating On The Weekend

This thing despite claiming to be super self aware is the exact opposite of that. In fact it is just downright mean spirted a lot of the time. Fuck this.

La Dispute - Sixteen
43

Not for me, I was cool with some of the instrumentation in the first track but the vocals were not doing it. Second track entirely wasn't doing it for me, I feel like I need more behind it like an album to get it. Whoospie Poopsies.

Chivas - Deathcore

It had enough charm to keep me entertained throughout my listen but nothing that blew me away.

"100% agree that this album needs its time to really grow on you! I actually enjoy Dryland and The Fish Song quite a bit, but can certainly understand some of the apprehension to fully getting lost within those tracks. I think I may need to spin back on the album yet again and re-evaluate my scores since I didn't give Where Did You Go a 100 and it is one of the most memorable tracks off the album for me. Great review!"
