This album is a phenomenal celebration of the ups and downs of life with enough soul to melt the toughest exterior.
Four years ago today I lost someone very close to me, my father. Fats Domino was amongst some of his favorite music alongside Tony Bennet and Fleetwod Mac and I would grow up listening to a lot of these artists music. However, as years progressed I started to develop more into my own person and wanted to listen to the music I liked and slowly began rejecting the music of my ... read more
The deluxe of From Me To You builds immensely on the original work and has even more nods to IDMTHY.
I really found these bonus tracks to be a much more cohesive and overall higher quality experience. Starting out of the gate with Please Don't Wake Me Up you get a grand opening with distortion ringing in through the background and some of Quadeca's best vocals on the project overall. This continues into the track More Than Mine, which I really commend for really dialing the rapping into a good ... read more
EP is short, sweet, and high quality like Laufey's other work. I feel like Like The Movies could be on the radio for a Fallout game and no one would be the wiser.
Damn Dorje back at it again with the cool beats!
Gonna take a little different approach to this one and do track ratings and comments in a row together.
new beginnings: Very spacey and shimmery with just a bit of bounce to it. 76/100
yong pil: We cruising! Punchy little city pop vibe. 82/100
winding road: Windy and soulful, nice sampling on the backend. 75/100
it ain't serious: Bedsqueek.meme. I don't know if taking the piano to the jersey club was quite doing it for me. 45/100

Like a cocoon plays its part in the metamorphosis of a butterfly so does this album.
While going through Quadeca's discography after the enjoyment of IDMTHY I always had a feeling there was going to be something good to this record so I wanted to save it for last and I am glad I did. This album has so many different elements going well for it that separate it from Quadeca's contemporaries vocally, instrumentally, and narratively. Where I do feel this album lacks is in having a clear vision ... read more
Now being served with a side of potatoes and gravy get your copy of WE DON'T TRUST YOU! Because if the thanksgiving bloat wasn't already enough this will fill you right up!
This project is certainly a mixed bag with a lot of highlights like the title track We Don't Trust You, Like That, and Everyday Hustle that may be among some of the best songs in either artists discographies. The downside is that this project is also way too packed with a lot of middle ground or just straight up ... read more
It's atmospheric drum and bass!
Fitting to be the soundscape of plunders through frozen crystal caverns and explorations into the odysseys of space. This is a very pleasant experience that while I think could use more fleshing out to be really compelling still hits the mark of being good background noise that keeps you focused.

Back with your daily fill of honky-tonk country with good ole southern love!
Very warm record with beautiful vocals and just the right amount of twang. 3 Sisters was a great way to start the record with this very mellow buildup on the first half transitioning into a still mellow yet more upbeat second half. The record slightly lost me in the middle section but had me back come the closing end, especially with the highs on 365. This has a certain punch to it you won't get on a traditional ... read more
Laufey is an artist who I completely missed out on until a friend of mine put me onto this artist, and I am so glad that they did. This record is super floaty and dreamy with super smooth instrumentation making you feel as if you are sitting in a dim lit coffee shop listening live. Laufey is certainly vocally talented singing in this mostly reserved tone but still throwing in occasional trills or other flairs onto vocal lines giving just enough to keep your ear peeked.

L-I-M-P Say it....
Thanks Colin.... I really appreciate your playlist and look forward to further listens out of it. Now onto the album, this thing is a miserable existence. At its best it is generic butt-rock infused with a bottle of teenage angst except spewed from the mouth of a 33 year old. At its worst it is a jarring rap-rock with immature and cringe approaches to its subject matter. It was funny for like 3-4 songs then the joke stopped being funny anymore.

A Plan to Get Home is a very reserved EP presenting the artist SOMOH utilizing a blend of indie and bedroom pop elements. This EP is very inoffensive with a banger of a start in the track Anything, but slowly loses punch as the record progresses. Tracks like My Boy is a Friend and Reflections had a hard time leaving a solid impression with me. There is a nice escalation to the back end of A Plan To Get Home that does help that track stand apart from the two prior tracks and give the EP some ... read more
Pretty swell Jakartan bedroom pop. Very easy to digest and pleasant on the ears so not much to immediately complain about, though the short length and rather simple presentation make it hard to find memorable.

I wanted to fall in love with this record so badly especially after the super positive reception of water; however, I feel this record really failed to actualize all the talent here and just takes the choice of playing it incredibly safe. I think this is best highlighted on the song On and On which honestly just sounds like an Ariana Grande song. The features on this project really do just take away from things mostly, especially Mr. Scott on the remix here adding absolutely jack shit to the ... read more

Coming along a year later to deliver an additional 5 tracks to the acclaimed GUTS album. This time not scattered on several different vinyl records! Never a more perfect to revisit this thing in it's entirety and see if it truly has held up and uh yeah it did. Can't believe MIDnights took it home over this. Loved it even more this time around and really had the tracks ballad of a homeschooled girl and the grudge really click ... read more
Matt Champion, singer, songwriter, contributor to Brockhampton, recluse.
Following the split of the group Brockhampton many were eagerly expecting solo works from all the artists individually, Matt Houston not excluded. However, in this time Matt would remain mostly distant and not drop many hints into the future of his music. That was until about a month ago when Matt would begin uploading teasers and singles to his youtube channel preluding this release. Thanks to information put out by ... read more
When you strip an unimpressive artist of all access to good production or any impressive qualities what are you left with?
This.... this is what you are left with. This album was a miserable listen and I nearly lost it at the "mama" adlib in NADA. Say what you want, but you know exactly who 6ix9ine is emulating there and it is disgusting.
One of the worst releases this year by far.

I listened to this on spotify so I basically stole it.
Despite this collection of tracks lacking the follow-through to have the same punch as something off Toxicity or Self Titled it still is good enough to put many contemporaries to shame.
Pepperoni and green peppers, mushrooms, olive, chives.
Doja you cheating putting Kiss Me More on here!
If Kiss Me More were not here this would be getting a 59. Overall, this can be a very underwhelming project at a lot of points and the highs here are really just above average at best. Hot take, You Right is poo poo.
More than likely the least offensive Attila record. What the fuck was I listening to a teen? Any who, this thing is lyrically some of the most immature stuff possible very similar to Hollywood Undead but the instrumentals do go hard so there is at least something to distract you from the former.

Another addition thanks to Tony Hawk's Underground 2. There were a handful of tracks like Work, Pain, and Polaris that I enjoyed a lot but the rest felt very underwhelming compared to the critical reception I see for the group. Consider me mostly indifferent at least on this record but perhaps the previous release will fare better. Pitchfork though.... yeah they were bugging.
