JAY-Z - American Gangster

NR

That genre list really peaked my interest.

Lil Xan - TOTAL XANARCHY
11

The beat on "Diamonds" is certainly a beat.

75

Pretty repetitive lyrical content but the riffs are sick and the vocals are solid as usual

The Roots - How I Got Over
83

Great release not their strongest but still great

Dr. Dre - 2001
86

Y'know if there weren't so many mid to bad tracks on here as well as awful skits this might genuinely be a 10/10 given the fact that there's like 5 top 50 hip-hop songs of all time on here

Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher
80

Solid sad-gurl folk

David Bowie - ★ [Blackstar]

NR

The fuck is "war metal"

Really freaking beautiful definitely not overrated

Aesop Rock - The Impossible Kid
100

Kirby is actually so damn heartwarming.

One of my personal favorite hip-hop albums of all time, Aesop Rock is genuinely one of the best lyricists ever, and on this album, he's exploring topics like depression, isolation, anxiety, etc., in incredibly abstract, metaphorical, and creative ways. Seriously, this man's wordplay and encyclopedic knowledge of the English language are truly something to behold—but he also has an enjoyable sense of humor as well. His rapping, in my ... read more

The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die

"I love how the comment right under this is praising Olivia. Also you have to understand Olivia isn't really taking herself too seriously. I think she's relatively self-aware that she's just making music for a melancholic teenage audience you don't have to like it because of that but try to be more nuanced."

"That's something I see commonly, I think this is by far the best produced hip-hop album after Liquid Swords, but there is a legitimate argument that its a bit too experimental."

"@disidoroo Sorry for responding like a month later 😶, but I don’t really see how that’s the case. Once again, “Heartbreaker” is on this thing, and that riff can rival pretty much every song in their discography in that department — “When the Levee Breaks,” “The Rover,” etc. “What Is and What Should Never Be,” “The Lemon Song,” and “Whole Lotta Love” are pretty rockin’ as well. Even “Moby Dick,” the instrumental track, opens with a sick riff. I don’t really get this take. Sure, it’s not as lyrically sharp, but that’s a completely different argument. To be honest, I’d argue Led Zeppelin IV is way more tame by comparison"
