Honestly I’d take any Hobo Johnson record over this. 1000 gecs was phenomenal, snake eyes was really good as well, but this is just trying so so hard to be quirky. There’s nothing special here and it’s severely lacking in experimentation. Offers a collage of sounds and occasional introspection that I would’ve never thought could be conveyed by music like this. It’s almost a lesson on how to not give a fuck about album structures and make a work that must be absorbed for what it is, a true uncommercial living being.

This is definitely better than act 1, like I would say that this is actually listenable material, the problem is that who would return to this. Fucking PHENOMENAL. I’m telling you guys, I feel like this new album will go down as one of their best tbh. Xiu Xiu for life, some of the best artists ever.
