580 people on this website wrote a review of this album saying something along the lines of "Hauntingly beautiful, best dark ambient album, this is art". While this is all of the above, I don't like staring at an intricate mural for seven hours. I get it isn't supposed to be fun, or entertaining, it's supposed to mean something thought-provoking, and the run time is necessary to depict it. But at the end, music is supposed to entertain, and EATEOT simply does not. Wanting to kill ... read more
A fellow AOTY user gave this album an 80 and said "It's important to note that "Pulse Demon" is not for everyone. The extreme and harsh nature of the noise can be challenging and even uncomfortable for some listeners. It's an acquired taste that caters to those interested in pushing the boundaries of musical expression and exploring the avant-garde."
This is dumb bullshit, and "Pulse Demon" is an hour and thirteen minutes of literal ear damage for the purpose of ... read more
I wish Bowie stuck with this piano-heavy approach a bit more, but with that being said not every song on this album is great. Changes, Oh! You Pretty Things, Life On Mars?, Kooks, all great. It feels a bit frontloaded at first, but Bowie still saves a few highlights till the end like Andy Warhol and Queen Bitch, albeit less than the first half. Overall, great album with beautiful highlights, but some tracks like Eight Line Poem, Fill Your Heart, and The Bewlay Brothers feel a smidge boring and ... read more
Dude, someone please talk about this band, because HOLY SHIT THIS IS A GOOD ALBUM. It's rough sure, but that's the point. In my eyes, this album is right next to In Utero, Dirt, and Superunknown
Within a month of hearing this album, it has become one of my favorites, even a close second to favorite of all . It's so simple and beautiful with it's production (Thank you Jon Brion) and Mac's writing is so down to earth and breathtaking. It's so versatile in it's sound where you could play it whenever, soft, breathtaking, humble, and most of all, real. Mac really put his all into this album, even from the grave he sounds like he is still here. Mac was a wise but troubled man at this point, ... read more
why doesn't it stop after 2 seconds of the opening track, mojang pls fix
Clearly Tyler had matured past Goblin at this point, and his music showed. It sounds much cleaner and is much happier than Goblin and even Bastard. Not only is the music itself better, the lyrics are well written and no longer depend on disturbing scenes to carry them through. As much as I like this album, there are some unneeded songs and some that really don't show much growth. At this point, Tyler’s rage songs really don’t sound as good as the truly new things.

I really want to like this one but it just doesn’t hold up. The production is better but Tyler just doesn’t have a good flow on this project and the run from Her to Window just really isn’t… good at all. At this point after Her you just get used to the edgy and shocking lyrics and like I said before, Tyler just doesn’t rap very well. I think Fish/Boppin’ Bitch is definitely the worst song in the trilogy with Tina (from Bastard) being a close second. It goes ... read more
When you're past the disturbing lyrics, it's decent and has some good songs on it, but it's often pretty bland and repetitive and sometimes just bad. My least favorite has to be track 12 titled "Tina". It just has a terrible beat and throughout the album Tyler just lacks a good flow. The album also lacks polish, but it really shines in its story, which only gets better with time.
Favorite tracks: French!, Blow, Pigs Fly, AssMilk, VCR/Wheels, Sarah, Inglorious
Worst tracks: Bastard, ... read more
You get a 6. You get a 6 because at least the 6th one is just almost bearable.
Gaius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (31 August 12 – 24 January 41), better known by his nickname Caligula (/kəˈlɪɡjʊlə/), was the third Roman emperor, ruling from AD 37 until his assassination in AD 41. He was the son of the Roman general Germanicus and Agrippina the Elder, Augustus' granddaughter. Caligula was born into the first ruling family of the Roman Empire, conventionally known as the Julio-Claudian dynasty.
Although Gaius was named after Gaius Julius Caesar, he acquired the ... read more
Like staring into the endless abyss of drug use and depression, then it stares back for half a second before it swallows you whole and rips you into shreds; the tuberculosis of rap albums (in a good way).
Best songs: Shattered Dreams, Cold Summers, Nowhere2go, December 24, Ontheway!, The Mint, The Bends, Azucar, Eclipse, and Riot!
Worst songs: Loosie and Playing Possum
My first full Soundgarden album! I purposefully skipped Badmotorfinger and Superunknown to try and see Soundgarden from a non-tainted view, as the main criticism I've seen for this album is that it's not as good as the two already mentioned. That being said, you guys are too picky. This album is amazing and has some truly golden songs on it. My biggest problem comes from some of the second half really sounding worse in quality from the first, specifically Switch Opens and An Unkind, as they are ... read more
The only way I can describe this album is moody, but a special kind of moody. This album is like if you took Radiohead's Kid A, repopulated that barren landscape with people, and started a dystopian industrial revolution. Then, you took one of the (probably underpaid) workers and told him to rap about the wasteland with the ambience around him. THAT is what this album sounds like. Not nearly as ambient and mysterious as Kid A, but still uses that barren, dystopian feeling to craft these ... read more
A incredibly solid project from Lovejoy, but two tracks in particular bring it down. First off, Portrait of a Blank Slate is their best song. The raw guitars, the fast-paced vocals from Wilbur, and the song structure completely and easily takes the throne for best Lovejoy song. Call Me What You Like is not good. This song is easily their worst, it misses every part, and I cringe at the bridge or "breakdown" every time I hear it. Consequences is SO, SO CATCHY and easily makes up for ... read more
The College Dropout is not a good album, it is a good selection of songs. The College Dropout should not be endured fully through it's whole 1 hour and 16 minute run, but instead fat trimmed to the 15 actual songs (16 if you count I'll Fly Away) and listened to in sections. Kanye's beats and rhyming schemes, as well as a sprinkle of social commentary and amazing connections, make an absolute unit of songs. This unit is then overcrowded with the large amount of skits and some unneeded songs ... read more
Ten Thousand Fists is so SO much improvement, yet still not good enough to definitively call great. It's an incredibly top heavy album as the first 5 songs outweigh all the rest, and the rest feels like their first album The Sickness minus the guttural noises every ten seconds (so better). One thing I have to mention, OH MY GOD LAND OF CONFUSION IS AWFULLLLLLL PLEASE NEVER DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT AGAIN DISTURBED.
Best songs: Ten Thousand Fists, Just Stop, Deify, Striken, Sons of Plunder
