Decided to listen to this because “Rain” is one of my favorite songs ever, and while the rest of this album may not be on that level, it’s still a great 90s R&B record.
The first two songs had me thinking that this was potentially gonna be an enjoyable album from Mr. Sheeran, the man responsible for my least favorite song ever “Shape of You”, but nope! It just wasn’t meant to be.
While “-“ is surprisingly a pretty decent album, it still is just kinda uninteresting overall. It’s not bad and there is some solid songwriting and production here, but for the most part the songs here are just kinda alright. Not bad, not great, ... read more
Make this album the best 12 songs, and it’s a very solid album. But as is, the production is hard and there are some fire highlights, but Destroy Lonely’s lack of charisma, the length, and how samey it all is makes this a kinda mind-numbing listen that ultimately blends together. I like a lot of it on its own, but Destroy Lonely just cannot carry a feature-length runtime and keep it entertaining throughout. And after listening to basically the same song for that long, I feel like ... read more
This wasn’t bad and I found it to be mostly solid, but this feels pretty low effort compared to his best stuff. The production sounds kinda like generic Griselda type beats from YouTube, and Conway’s performances lack the urgency his best stuff has and he sounds like he’s just going through the motions here. This feels like a thrown together set of throwaways and ends up being kinda forgettable and disposable as a result, even if it’s still pretty enjoyable in the grand ... read more
Yes!!!! Jack Harlow made a project at the level I hoped he could!!!! I knew he could do it if he tried!!!!!!
“NEVER ENOUGH” is solid album from Daniel Caesar that is definitely an improvement from his last record, but it still doesn’t reach the highs of or feel as consistent as “Freudian”.
It’s cool to hear a new Rae Sremmurd album after 5 years, and it’s definitely not bad and has some solid production and highlights, but past the nostalgia factor “SREMM4LIFE” is missing the youthful energy of their previous works and just isn’t really fun enough to be anything more than decent for me.
“ANOTHER ERA IS UPON US” LETS GOOOOOO!!!! IN ADDITION TO THESE FIRE FUCKING SONGS TOO!!!!
(Rating just for the new songs)
This was great and lived up to the hype for me. And every time I heard Phoebe, I was just reminded how desperately I need new solo music.
Edit: I’ve sat with this for a week and I don’t really have much to say. Just a great album with great writing and performances. Nothing crazy and kinda exactly what I expected but I still love it.
“In Pieces” is an enjoyable record from Chlöe considering the strange rollout that had me and many others worried, but I just know that she has the ability to release a truly great album, which makes this a somewhat disappointing release.
While I may not have loved Chloe x Halle’s last album “Ungodly Hour”, it did grow on me over the last couple years and I saw a lot of potential that was eventually realized on the solo single “Have Mercy”. This ... read more
“RЯ“ is a cool and enjoyable little EP from ROSALÍA & Rauw Alejandro, even though it’s not boundary pushing or super crazy or anything. Just 3 solid tracks.
Like it’s title, “Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd” may be too long and not as concise as I hoped, and there may be a few songs that kind of come and go without leaving much of an impression, but this is still an impressive and pretty great release from Lana.
What is “mixing”?
In sound recording and reproduction, audio mixing is the process of optimizing and combining multitrack recordings into a final mono, stereo or surround sound product. In the process of combining the separate tracks, their relative levels are adjusted and balanced and various processes such as equalization and compression are commonly applied to individual tracks, groups of tracks, and the overall mix. In stereo and surround sound mixing, the placement of the ... read more
Finally got around to listening to this in full, and I’m glad I did, even if I don’t love it. This is an insanely creative and out there album, and it’s certainly an engaging listen. I’m sure it will grow on me with repeated listens and with time, but outside of some key highlights (a few of which I was already familiar with) much of this was kind of hard to grab onto with one listen.
