I think this is the best Alice in Chains project, it's not as raw as the others and it definitely has less grunge elements but in the same time it's much more depressive, they put more efforts in the songwriting and the lyrics than anything they've done before while exploring a different style, which is great
As much as I love Denzel, I never thought he would drop one of the best albums of the last decade
When I first got into rap I heard a lot about this album and how much quality there was on it, so I had really high expectations, in the end it was even better than what I expected
At first the lack of bass did bother because it's definitely an essential part in metal music and especially in the first 3 Metallica records, but by coming back to it more and more the experience got better and finally I think when there's songwriting that good, maybe it just doesn't need bass to be perfect, I even think it makes it more brutal and agressive
I don't find any reason to dislike this album, every single second of it is perfect
Same than No Prayer for the Dying, maybe slightly better but that's so sad how they went away from what made them so good
Was really disappointed to hear this right after 7th Son, I mean I don't understand why they tried to go in a more heavy style while their style was perfect as it was, it feels like they try to do like other metal bands of the time, they're not themselves anymore
They really cooked with this one, it's like hearing Powerslave again but with totally new music, they should have done more conceptual albums
They tried some new instrumental styles I think to be more cohesive with the mainstream music of their era, even if I think it wasn't necessary it's still fun
Maiden at their peak, the energy of the album and the songwriting are perfect from start to finish
More than having Bruce Dickinson which is a flawless singer, the band came with brand new bangers all around the album, definitely a classic
Same as their first album except the songwriting was a little bit stronger on the self titled, still a pretty solid album
Great debut, they began defining their own style even before the arrival of Dickinson
Truly beautiful, Kanye and Cudi both adapt their styles to each other to make a great chemistry while keeping it personal
