A really fun listen, I'm surprised it's not that famous considering the high number of mainstream artists featured and also the quality and replay value it has to offer
I really like the first half with saturated production and great verses from Kanye, I do think the energy is lost on the second half, "Blood on the Leaves" and "Hold My Liquor" really are basic tracks that don't fit at all with the ambition and the style the album has on the first few songs, "Bound 2" also is completely out of place. I'm really disappointed because I was really diving into it and having fun for the first 20 minutes but it quickly went ... read more
I think it's a nice debut even if some of the tracks aren't that great there are some great verses and nice production on this mixtape
I think even if it's great it was a good decision removing these tracks from Tpab
I think it's a solid project even if I think their pop/hard rock style is kind of basic on most of the album, I'd say it's the definition of simple but efficient
This is an essential because it's a base for the defining of the psychedelic soundscape, here when it comes to mixing it with blues rock elements
Metallica was totally switching styles between Justice For All, which was meant to be really conceptual with complex lyrics and songwriting, to this more casual aimed experience. And it worked actually: since it came out the Black Album is the metal album that non metal fans listen to, it is also really important in Metallica's career because it brought them to global mainstream, and not just metal mainstream. About the quality of the music itself I think it is solid enough but the energy ... read more
The songwriting is amazing, the solos and the overall performance as well but unfortunately I can't stand Mustaine's dying chicken voice
This album is so slept on without any reason, Jid was already at his prime when he made this, I think he always was
Some masterpieces of conscious rap on this album, but on the other hand the production is kind of basic on most of the tracks and the verses are repetitive, plus wtf is that vegan community diss track doing in this kind of album bruh
Has bloat but also a lot of bangers, solid but definitely not as good as its prequel
Banger after banger, Metro and Future really have some of the best producer/rapper chemistry ever
Some of his best verses are on this album, one bad point is that even though he's good at rapping, he's really not that great of a singer, and the most of the hooks aren't pleasant to listen considering he either "sings" or yell, still a great album
Eminem has some solid stuff on this debut, but I think his funny immature style is becoming annoying on some of the tracks, this is still one of the best projects of his discography
With this album Jid is not only becoming one of the best rapper and lyricist of this decade, but also of all time, would be perfect without that Lil Durk ass verse
