Kid Cudi & Eminem - The Adventures Of Moon Man And Slim Shady

Love the production. Covid lines age how you'd think. Was really hoping there'd be more from these 2, considering the amount of promo material at the time.

Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To

Took me a while to really get into this. I think the sound and production on this album immediately jumps out at me as some of the most enjoyable I've heard on any metal project. The vocals definitely took some time to adapt to thought, shrill screaming is definitely not something I typically enjoy in metal. As a result, this was really just listening to suffocate in a gym playlist, until one day I decided I like suffocate way more than I used to, and gave the entire album another chance. ... read more

Aphex Twin - #19

Best song of all time. I can't fucking believe it's finally officially released. There's a good chance I've listened to this song more on its own than my most listened to album on its own (in terms of minutes). Genuinely the greatest piece of music I've ever heard.

No other song will just transport you to another place on earth like this. I imagine for everyone it's different but to me this is just the best piece of music ever. Stone in focus will always take me ... read more

Björk - Homogenic

Potentially the strongest first half an album I've heard in a WHILE. Instantly captures you, and doesn't loosen up. imo this is also a much more friendly intro to bjork as a whole... I love vesptertine. but some songs, like cocoon for example, are just so hard to be comfortable with (im not sure vesptertine is ever "comfortable" but I digress). In comparison, this album is a lot easier to casually listen to, while still having such strong emotions come through if you're willing to ... read more

I don't trust people that hate this.

Sigur Rós - Takk...

This shit pulled me through the worst time of my life. Listening to it even now it's just one of the most emotional albums I've ever heard. Whenever I listen to it all I think of is a cold, snowy winter night, and I'm just completely at peace with it for whatever reason.

Iced Earth - A Narrative Soundscape

the only member not arrested in J6 came out with inspirational anti-vax thoughts. Not an ounce of music to be seen.

I didn't listen to this

Swans - The Seer
95

I often compare gybe and swans in my head as a comparison of the scope they try to achieve. Where gybe feels as though it is commenting on the state of the world; the ideals we can strive to, the acknowledgment of things lost and a future so bleak you can not help but wonder if there is anything you can do.

In contrast, swans feels as though it is following the journey of a single person as a creation of their environment. The seer is one of the best albums I have ever heard, and in my ... read more

Do yourself a favor and listen to stone in focus. It's vinyl only, but can easily be found on yt.

We Lost The Sea - Departure Songs

Each song on this album is beautiful, and serves as an acknowledgement in history to a person or peoples that they consider to be heroes. More personally, the album serves as a tribute to their lost vocalist, with the message of the album being so uplifting and strong despite the lows of the album. You can't help but feel optimism for the future while still acknowledging the past.

This band had to completely change up their sound and feel after losing their vocalist, and while normally I think ... read more

On The Evpatoria Report - Golevka
"@Scunge I think it has less to do with intensity but more on the artists vision (or lack thereof). A lot of the albums I have as 10's are post rock, and the most common theme in them is the albums being made with a very strong sense of purpose. That purpose or vision for the music gets communicated very effectively, making it a very unique genre for sure."

"Totally agree with your thoughts on suffocate. It took me a pretty long time to build up the tolerance to the vocals on this album, but suffocate is such a great song and after listening to it for a couple months, the rest of the album just clicked. Glad to see I'm not the only one enjoying the suffocate -> metal catharsis pipeline."

"Album deserves a 100 -> straight to 95. Out of curiosity, was there something that took you out of the album? Or was this just caught up in the all too common 100 purge"

"Totally understandable feeling, nothing about this album feels like emotional powerhouse, yet it totally is, especially if you've been listening to it for a long time as it sounds like you have been. Hope you keep getting better and keep enjoying this album."
