Fantastic - and to seemingly produce their best work after a nearly decade-long hiatus is even more impressive. I love this album.
I'm not sure how this is album manages to remain so obscure - almost no streams on Spotify. Not that names are everything, but with such a lackluster band/album name, I'm quite surprised at how pleasant this listening experience turned out to be. El Goodo aren't exactly reinventing the wheel here, but they execute the sound they were chasing with ease and their talent shines with this very consistent debut. Special shoutout to "I Saw Nothing," which is a fantastic song.
I can see the appeal but it didn't do much for me. Musically it's a little too crowded.
Fantastic first half or so but after "Mary, Please," it falls off quite hard. Nevertheless, I'm a big fan of the sound of this album overall. Very much '66-'67 Rolling Stones.
Definitely nothing to write home about. Listened to the album twice now and it's just not doing it for me. It's better than A Ride I'm Waiting For, but there's probably not a single song on here that I would be upset over not hearing again. And I'm probably closer to a Growlers superfan than anything else. It's a bummer, but at this point I'm convinced without Matt Taylor in the equation, Brooks' music and "The Growlers" just aren't going ... read more

While the ’50s sound isn’t my cup of tea, they don’t make it sound too bad. The songs aren’t great either, though, and that’s kind of the overarching theme of this album. It makes for sufficient background music, but ... read more
Autotune much? Probably was a hard sale to begin with, but I'm unfortunately not a fan of this at all. They sound wayyy more angsty and emo than I remember. Granted, I haven't listened to anything by them since Life Starts Now, but still.
