DJ Smokey - Lost and Found

Absolutely fire instrumental hip-hop. I think this is a compilation album with old beats, and damn is it fire. The man was COOKING back in the day. Lots of ridiculous vocal samples to make it a signature DJ Smokey release. There's really just a good mix here, with some phonk, lo-fi and just standard hip-hop beats. They're all fun, all entertaining and all just damn good. A LOT of phonk here especially, but the actual good phonk, not the goofy 12 year old tiktok shit that kinda floats ... read more

This is alright! was honestly pleasantly surprised cus like the SOUND of this is setting up to be the lightest 4 of all time to me, but I actually ended up liking it so maybe I'm just in a positive mood today. But yeah this is basically just 70 minutes of veeze doing the same kinda lazy flow on good beats. Nothing spectacular, but it just works. There's some really catchy stuff here but the vast majority of it does end up being just fine. It's still fun though, and FAR from ... read more

This is the like the worst "not for me" syndrome I've ever gotten. Like it's GOOD it really is, and I do like it a decent amount but it's just simply and plainly not my taste. It is beautiful though, no doubt about that. The instrumentals are nice, but the whole album is just too acoustic for me. I've always been way more production and sound oriented and something about stripped back acoustic songs just don't do a whole lot for me. You'll probably like ... read more

Okay I don't know if I really trust my rating here cus it feels off but like in WORDS, I'll say this is over hated. Like YEAH there's some REALLY bad songs but only like 2 honestly. A couple other bad songs (3 or 4 maybe) and the rest is just either boring, or (which happened more than I expected) genuinely good. I feel like people are honestly just very dramatic and dismissive towards this. Like it's really nothing to write home about, I don't think I'd recommend ... read more

After 3 listens, I don't dislike this album by any means, but don't care for it either. My main issue is not with the vocals, or the instrumentals, it's the pacing. I just have no interest in most of these songs because they take so long to build up, and then the climax doesn't feel rewarding at all, they just feel like they go nowhere. It's what makes TPWHITB so good, it takes its 7 minutes and RUNS with it, perfectly using it's length to make a compelling and ... read more

Foot - The Balance of Nature Shifted

I love how far away this album sounds. The vocals are mixed really quietly, and the lyrics are barely understandable over the booming rock instrumentals. And the instrumentals aren't safe either from that weird, sorta "it's playing from another room" effect. But even apart from that, the instrumentals are just phenomenal most of the time. That solo in the middle of High is something else, and then when the vocals come back in, it's just crazy bro. I think overall ... read more

Wasn't a big fan of this one tbh. I'm not really a fan of her voice and a good few of the songs just felt boring as a result. The instrumentals were definitely a high point here, with some very smooth moments that genuinely got me in the vibe. Other than that though, there's not a whole lot else! This feels longer than it actually is, which is not a great sign to be honest! Idk, it's still getting a 5 cus her singing is GOOD I just don't like her voice that much, and ... read more

Glitch pop for the win!!!! The production on this is so fire bro. It's loud, distorted, dramatic, and really damn good!!!! The drums especially bro, mixed so well too like they really HIT. It really helps too that this album has a lot of instrumental breaks/semi-instrumental breaks, they really highlight how good the production is. The guitars too start to show up a bit as you go through the track list and they're just really nice sounding too. This guy is also like really good at ... read more

THIS IS AMAZING. Every song hits! There's a real variety to especially the pacing of the songs, even within the songs themselves, but everything balances out so well. The fast and ambitious moments aren't overbearing, and the slower more reserved moments aren't boring. Very consistent, very well paced album. The production is VERY GOOD, it's genuinely so well made, so catchy and everything bro it's amazing. Some of it is WEIRD too like that Lavish beat is STRANGE but it ... read more

Yeah, I mean it's average. Hyperpop isn't really my thing, this is like the most standard album ever. Barely anything stands out for any reason, good or bad. Honestly the only thing that is standing out to me is ionwantthat, it's pretty catchy. Other than that thought I really have nothing to say. I'm neutral on this one. It's probably great if you like hyperpop tho!

Fav Track(s): ionwantthat

This is honestly pretty good, good trap/drill production and good performances most of the time. There are a couple misses and sections where the songs just blend into each other because they bring nothing interesting to the table, but overall yeah this is a pretty fun album! Lyrics are mildly to highly questionable at times but like it's kinda the vibes this give off anyway so it fits. Yeah it's pretty great!

i really didn't connect with this at all to be honest 😭 REALLY wasn't a fan of the vocals, he honestly sounds really bad to me tbh, not even sure why its just weird idk. I'll give credit to the instrumentals, a lot of the time they're pretty decent but like at the same time they're very mid and honestly boring a good bit of the time too. Also the songs being like less than 3 minutes long most of the time doesn't help either it feels like they go nowhere and ... read more

This is actually the oldest album I've reviewed yet, ad pretty much proves music is timeless. Over 50 years later, this album is really good! I really like the vocals, idk who the lead singer is but he sounds really good over these instrumentals. And speaking of the instrumentals, yeah they're also really really good. The guitars on this sounds so damn nice. Just a really pleasant listen! And making a 23:00 song good and not boring is genuinely an impressive feat so, hats off to them. ... read more

This is cool as hell. I know it's probably outdated as hell by now, and it's very very formulaic, but the formula just WORKS right? There are some INSANELY good songs in here, really. I suppose with 30 tracks in like 4 hours it's bound to happen, but no some of these are just phenomenal. It starts off REALLY strong, with the first few tracks being super enjoyable. Most of the misses are around the middle section, going from like track 7 to track 22, but honestly even in that ... read more

MAN THIS SHIT IS SO GOOD. Eric Prydz continues to be one of the most consistent and uplifting progressive house artists EVER. Perfect melodies, satisfying drums, amazing progressions and just all around unbelievable tracks. You are like guaranteed to love every single song here I PROMISE. It's just phenomenal track after track. Starts off with the weakest track (I think?) but it picks up so fast it's unbelievable. The Riddle, Hiidden and The Drive are particular standouts. Those 3 are ... read more

It IS really good but it's a TADDD overrated in the fandom I think. Like some phenomenal songs definitely are on here like High For This, What You Need, HOB/ GTG, Wicked Games and Loft Music. But there are some songs that realllyyy make it obvious this was his first release. The song writing on TP&TAP is mediocre tbh and the vocals sounds off in some way. I can't pinpoint it but not a single second of that 7 and a half minute song sounds exactly right. Loft Music is stupidly ... read more

This is actually so unbelievably fire. VERYYY consistent album. Nothing really mind blowing but EVERY song is amazing. And I mean every single song. Idk what you fuckers on this website were smoking rating WHISPER THE LOWEST OF ALL THINGS, it's literally the best song here. Amazing vocals (as usual), Amazing riffs and little soundbites in the production, and the chanting at the end is so fire.

Yeah easily the best of the trilogy, can't be bothered to write a review cus I've heard this like a billion times but trust me IT IS GOOD AS FREAK. Adore every song on here. It's not a 10 because some songs don't hit like THAT, but yeah this is one of my fave of all time for SUREEEE. Check it out!

Someday I hope I'll see what everyone else sees in this. As it stands though, not a huge fan :(

SO, I TECHNICALLY listened to this like months ago, but it wasn't a full listen, (less than half I think) so I decided to let this in anyways because hey it's a classic, it's due a review. And yeah my opinions haven't changed. I still don't really care for this (relative to it's legacy anyway...). ... read more

I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would! Indie rock is pretty cool huh? The lows on this just aren't very low at all. You Blister Is My Paint is my least fav but it's just not my vibe, it's by no means awful to listen to or anything, just a good bit boring. And I mean yeah, the highs are pretty damn high too, with R&B and The World's Biggest Paving Slab being REALLY good songs imo. Cool ... read more
