FAVORITE TRACK: The End of the Affair
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: None
This is my favorite album of the year, so obviously I enjoy the acoustic version too. There's not really much of a difference. Laura Marling is immensely talented but I still prefer the songs on the album rather than this one.
FAVORITE TRACK: Lovin' It
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Buck
All the songs on DEAR-GOD's EP sound like if The Garden started doing rap. The guitar on this is pretty good- especially on Lovin' It and FMTTP. But it's the vocals, man. The attempt of rap on Slamdance is so irritating. And the chorus and bridge of New Kid on the Block is awful which is so unfortunate because the verses are really good.
This is just a really big miss for me.
FAVORITE TRACK: Cheesy Love Song
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: The Seaside
Imagine if Courtney Love collabed with Tame Impala. the influences of acts like Tame Impala, The Doors and Beach House are very apparent on this but I can see The Lazy Eyes becoming something great if they break away from that mold. Tangerine and Cheesy Love Song are more intact with their own, independent sound and they're cute and catchy indie pop songs. The guitar playing on this is great, especially on Tangerine and The ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Static
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Double Stuf
Yeah, this rating shouldn't be surprising.
Static is very reminiscent of music like Lil Pump. Fat Nick blows Pouya out of the water on most of this except for Number One Stunna but none are really enough to save the EP. All of these songs are really forgettable except for Double Stuf because it has really terrible, laughable lyrics. Static and Number One Stunna have pretty decent beats but that's kind of the only thing this EP has ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Don't Get Eaten By The Lizard
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Subduction
I was actually a fan of Asbestos Lead Asbestos' last album, Nature of the Feline, so this was a little disappointing. The duo trots down the road of creepy, experimental glitch rock and metal. The music just comes off as messy and like the duo is trying to see how weird they can go rather than creating something actually replayable.
FAVORITE TRACK: Holly
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Christmastide
For original Christmas music, it's pretty good.
FAVORITE TRACK: Want Me
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Medicine
Baby Queen makes this branch of British indie rock pop I've noticed cropping up in the past few years and I think she's one of the better voices in the genre. Baby Queen is similar to Phoebe Green and Jack River, artists who also released an EP this year, and GIRLI. This is Baby Queen's first project and it has a lot of potential.
Internet Religion and Pretty Girl Lie are modern indie pop songs that pay homage to 2000s rock pop with a ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACKS: Mine, Love Somebody
Bruh this is so boring. It's so lifeless and some of the worst and forgettable vocals I've heard this year
FAVORITE TRACK: BAWDY
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: LENG
Shygirl's most recent EP is a delve into hyper and dance-pop. It's a sexy ep with danceable music and that's pretty much it- it's a simple explanation but this EP is anything but that. FREAK is this creepy and weird and hot experimental track with amazing production. TASTY is the most mainstream sounding and I know once clubs are open again this will go off absolutely off the walls. LENG and SLIME has this weird production and strange beats ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Rager teenager!
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Take Yourself Home
Someone kiss me to rager teenager! please I'm so sick of this shit
But really this is some straightforward and fun pop music. Nothing necessarily new for Troye Sivan but the songs are fun and dreamy. Rager teenager! and IN A DREAM are some of the best songs in Sivan's discography up to now. Would love it if someone kissed me to Rager teenager! though.....
FAVORITE TRACK: Moment in the Sun
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Foxy's intro
I didn't know who Che Noir was before this but afterwards, I'm kinda hooked.
New York native Che Noir has a gritty rap style and intense lyrics. Her beats are incredible, specifically on Hunger Games and Reasons. Cruise Control and Moment in the Sun have a great use of piano that sounds really well mixed in with noir's voice. The use of samples on this are great. The features on this are great from Ransom on Hunger Games, ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Chuck
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Good Night
I'm not big into j-pop music but I found myself really enjoying this EP. Travel is a catchy pop song. The influences of hip-hop on AYA helps create this feisty pop song that mixes r&b and rap really well with a typical j-pop style. The vocals on Chuck are great. Good Night is a little lackluster compared to the rest of the project. But overall, TRAVEL is a fun fusion of rap and pop music.
FAVORITE TRACK: Sequence
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Panorama
One track in you can tell this is SIGNIFICANTLY better than Oneiric Diary. It still sticks to that very upbeat and happy song style but this time it isn't overly generic, even if it kinda irritating because it stays at the same pace the whole EP. Mise-en-Scène has a lively beat and great vocals. O Sole Mio is catchy and fun. Sequence has the best vocals from IZ*ONE up to now.
I don't think this band's music is necessarily for me ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Pretty
why are there so many members I am so confused.
Bruh I want to like this so bad but it's just not for me. It's well-produced but it's so overly sweet and poppy that it starts to feel so lifeless and boring. These all sound like anime intros but for like yaoi anime and that's kinda its only purpose to exist. I don't know this is just so irritating.
FAVORITE TRACK: WHAT YOU GONNA DO???
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: survivin'
One day we will, as a society, move on from Imagine Dragons and realize the real enemy has been in front of us the whole time: Bastille.
FAVORITE TRACK: Oblivion
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Blood Ice
Big Bunny is an indie-folk EP and the first long release from singer-songwriter Alaska Reid. I think this is really good !!
Alaska Reid is a great singer, her voice carries this whole project. She sounds fantastic on Big Bunny, Oblivion and Pilot. The lyrics for tracks like City Sadness, Boys From Town and Mermaid Tears are great and have great stories to them. This whole EP follows a central theme of love in a small town but it's ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Reinvent
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: A World I Forgot
I'm very disappointed by this because Phoebe Green's aesthetic is so cool and her music just doesn't match it. This is a boring project despite it being so short. Phoebe Green's sound is like a crossover of GIRLI and Billie Eilish and it just doesn't work. Reinvent has a pretty synth beat and good lyrics but the vocals are really nothing amazing. Grit is just so drones and boring and the vocals don't match A World I Forgot at ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: The Things We Do
So it's been a few years since I've listened to an entire Foster the People project but I've actually enjoyed their singles from the past few years like Sit Next to Me. So I went into this expecting a somewhat generic indie pop record.... and that's exactly what I got.
Walk With a Big Stick is funky with good vocals. Lamb's Wool is sweet with nice lyrics but repetitive. The autotune on The Things We Do sounds awful, ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer
Very atmospheric and beautiful covers. when the party's over, The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face and Godspeed are some real highlights for me as James Blake's voice was made to sing those songs.
