It's pretty decent. tenebrescence is the best song here. also the longest, but it uses all of that time wisely. It feels like the climax, which is... strange that it's the second song. celestina and you; bichromatic light are also really good too
This is pretty good. I think the second album in this dual album series is significantly better than this one, though. This one has a pretty strong first half, with songs like FALLOUT and QUIXOTE really carrying, the latter of which is my favourite song on the album, but I think the second half really struggles to establish itself- everything else is a lot more slow and lush and I find that to have mixed results, that usually lean negative. "DRIP" and "ultraviolent" are ... read more
WOW! I am blown away by this. Now THIS is real ass cinematic music, holy shit. Never heard of crywolf before, but I am positively blown away by this album and will be certainly checking out his other works. Let's talk about this first- the production on this album is phenomenal. I fucking love the beats here, all of the drum sounds are so unique to me, they're such an interesting texture and really out of the norm and the way they're panned to create an atmosphere is absolutely ... read more
Oof. I feel bad for this ranking, but I stand by it. I'm not so familiar with Emile Mosseri, but I can tell his production style meshes really well with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith's. That being said... this wasn't really anything special honestly. Most of these songs feel very aimless, like they exist just to be pretty and pleasant sounding without saying anything or doing anything interesting, and then they're already over. This would be great music for like, the background of a ... read more
Finally making my way into the world of Autechre after years of being intimidated by their massive catalogue and having no idea where to start. This is pretty solid! Love Acroyear2, easily my fav here, but Rae, Under BOAC, and Arch Carrier are also favs. The last track is really confusing to me... overall pretty solid album though
mini grimes. particularly the halfaxa/visions era. it's got a little bit more bouncy beats. it's really really solid. lechrysalis and spirit ojaia are my favs, although I love babybin, siklik hall, and orb a lot as well. overall this is just a really pleasant sounding album
I find this to be exceedingly Solid. I don't find it particularly groundbreaking, I personally think it sort of blends into other glitch stuff, it kinda has the issue where a lot of the songs have interesting sounds but don't really go anywhere or are a bit too short, and the sound design isn't unique enough to really sustain my attention. divine:analogue is definitely a lot better and improves on all aspects that I'm listing as flaws here imo. Still fairly nice even if ... read more
GREAT album I love the heavy overwhelming fast synthesizers mixed with the crazy beats, the music on here goes hard as hell. "renunciare.a.mis:alas" has got to be my favourite track on here, this track uses synths in the most pretty way, almost sparkling, and then mixes that with the most heavy beat on the album, it's absolutely sick. Behind that is "luz-cristalina" which is a fantastic closer, there's something super longing about it, in a way, I mess with it a ... read more
I am seriously impressed by this, they manage to create such a vibe with the production, idk how I would describe it, these songs have a very vaporwave feel to them despite not technically being vaporwave, the pure sound and texture that blasts out mixed with the beats in the background just work so insanely well for me. I can understand the feeling that some people have who think it's too repetitive, but honestly I like the sound design enough that that isn't an issue for me at all. ... read more
Incredible compilation, truly. I love the weird genre mashings of drum n bass, glitch core, vaporwave, and rock, it works so well together. I love the absolute walls of sound that are presented on many of the songs, I love the atmosphere it creates, my favourite songs are the glitch heavy songs, sprite ocarina has absolutely messed up beats in the best way possible and the way it escalates while still maintaining a level of consistency in it's insanity is peak. walk apart is my favourite ... read more
Gorgeous art pop album. Love the way that it mixes orchestral and electronics, alongside the odd experimentation, the vocals off of moonstone sound like something off a hyperpop record, so it's really interesting seeing it on a distinctly art pop album. Every song here is great except for Hologram which is ehhh. Really happy with this.
Hmm... it's not bad, but I don't find it as enticing as some of their other work. "the long night" is probably the best song here, followed by the last two. Everything else is like... nice, but not the most memorable to me. Still fairly pleasant.
Absolutely a standout when it comes to IDM/electro pop fusion. The beats here are amazing and Apparat's singing has never been better- ditching all the guest vocalists they had on their debut album was definitely the right call for them. "Intruder" is my personal favourite, I think the beats here are really sick and the sort of foreboding vibe it creates is incredible, "Ghostmother" and "Animal Trails" are right behind, but I don't think there's a ... read more
mini sufjan stevens. specifically sufjans "The Ascension" era. This album is very pretty! The song "Lighter" is especially gorgeous, and is my favourite. I'm also a big fan of Sugarhearts, Walk Away, and Indecent. The second half of this album is a lil weak but not terrible. Overall a good listen
This album is great! Really odd but intense mix of industrial and glitch production with big booming vocals. The song Family Galaxy is INSANE.
The best of this album is the first 6 minutes which you can just listen to as the single "Starstuff" the rest is reminiscent of Blank Mass' debut album which is just sort of dark ambient meandering oddities
Far from her best work to me, but still has a number of tracks that sustain me! Monolith To A Halcyon and Overrun are my top 2 easily.
