This album is an example of what a fun ‘90s album should sound like.
Favorite Songs: Oh Shit, 4 Better Or 4 Worse, *I’m That Type of Nigga*, *Soul Flower - Remix*, Officer, Ya Mama, Passin’ Me By, Otha Fish, Pack the Pipe, Return of the B-Boy
This is by far the worst volume of the trilogy. Jay-Z’s rapping was whatever but most of the beats are extremely boring.
Favorite Songs: Hova Song - Album Version/Intro, So Ghetto, Do It Again (Put Ya Hands Up), Dope Man, *Big Pimpin’*, Is That Yo Bitch
This album is beautiful as fuck. It's really atmospheric and has some pretty good songwriting.
Favorite Songs: Garden Song, Kyoto, Punisher, Moon Song, Savior Complex, Graceland Too, I Know The End
I think this was a pretty solid album. I really liked the blend of the old Cudi sound and the more modern trap elements in Act 1 & 2 a lot. It makes the album sound fresher and not just trying to rehash an old sound. My only real gripe is that it kinda starts to sound a bit samey around the end of Act 2 and Act 3.
Favorite Songs: Tequila Shots, Another Day, Heaven On Earth, Show Out, Sad People, The Void, The Pale Moonlight, Rockstar Knights, Lord I Know
James Blake doing James Blake things lol
Favorite Songs: when the party's over, Godspeed, When We're Older
I really like Rosalia's voice meshed with Weeknd's. It's very soothing
This rating is just for the deluxe songs.
Favorite Songs: Zack & Cody, Gelato, Talk, Solid
While it's not on the same level as Ology, it's still a pretty good album. Gallant still sings his ass off but this time it's over a more "mainstream" backdrop, which he does great on.
Favorite Songs: Crimes, Paper Tulips, Sweet Insomnia, Hurt, Panasonic, Céline
Least Favorite Songs: Hips
Production wise, this is Mac's most experimental album ever. It's very atmospheric and it definitely puts you in a certain mood. The lyrics too are extremely heavy, yet probably the most relatable lyrics he's ever written besides Swimming and Circles.
Favorite Songs: The Star Room, I'm Not Real, Bird Call, Matches, I Am Who Am (Killin’ Time), Objects in the Mirror, Watching Movies, Remember, Someone Like You, Youforia
A goddamn masterpiece is what this is. Without a doubt Mac’s most experimental project ever. The way he was able to combine such nihilistic lyrics over this amazing ass jazz production is nothing short of phenomenal.
Favorite Songs: Here We Go, Friends, Polo Jeans, Wedding, Funeral, Diablo, Ave Maria, Insomniak, Rain
Least Favorite Songs: Thumbalina
"So and So" wasn't really that good but "Areyoudown? Pt. 2" is a fucking BANGER
I will have to admit: NAV is slowly starting to grow on me. While there are songs I still don’t really like, he’s starting to get more into a groove that is actually tolerable to me now.
Favorite Songs: Friends & Family, Young Wheezy, Don’t Need Friends
Least Favorite Songs: Nasty, Repercussions
It's a fine record, but it just goes one way for the whole track
I was pleasantly surprised by Nicki’s feature. Tbh I think it’s her best verse that’s came out this year lmao
I'm not gonna lie. I came into this album wanting to shit on it just cause I think Reason is a mid artist. But he actually kinda impressed me on this album. The first half of the album was hit or miss in spots (Show Stop, Favorite Nigga), but everything else I thought was solid. Reason is still just a decent rapper to me, but he really shined in the second half of the album. And OH MY GOD can we fucking talk about Extinct with Zay and J.I.D.?!?! Hats off to everyone in this song. Zay, J.I.D., ... read more
I’m actually not mad at this feature from DaBaby. He actually did pretty good on it!
