This kind of sickly sweet Indie Pop/Rock stuff isn't super difficult to come across, but it IS rare for it to be done so well
A music-defining legend who passed away far too soon, Otis Blue is a collection of songs both new and old with most being reinvented covers of other great artists.
Not sure who that random blonde lady on the cover is, though. Is this the 60's equivalent of clickbait?
Full of personality, Courtney Barnett marries clever and goofy songwriting with earnest sentiment and catchy guitar playing
Plays around with stereo sound in a way I've never heard before. I think I'm still mentally deciding if that added to the album or detracted, but its definitely something that could be explored more in the future to some potentially awesome results
Decent, but significantly less mind-blowing or noteworthy the more other Electronic music you've listened to. If I wanted to FKA Twigs B-sides, I'd probably just listen to FKA Twigs
Groovy, yet very conscious and politically pointed. I love the sound of the tracks, but my one complaint is that the jammy nature of them extended some of those runtimes out slightly more than they maybe needed to be
Put two of the most quirked up white boys ever in the studio and they come out with this 🔥🔥
Seems I'm not the only person that Spotify REALLY wanted to hear this album. Probably not the greatest introduction to the group considering that it IS actually just a soundtrack but oh well. As far as soundtracks go, it's pretty good. The grooves are memorable and full of personality
I think... I think that she REALLY likes computers.
A nostalgia-soaked and wistful distillation of 2000's/2010's executed far better than most anything I've heard
When I'm in the "making music that goes hard" competition and my opponent is this lady with pink hair pissing on a wall
Pretty clearly the best Soda Stereo album among a quite substantially quality catalogue. Dynamo embraces elements of Shoegaze, Dance, Trip Hop, and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting together with their winning Rock formula to create a uniquely engaging project
I can honestly say this is the most exciting I've found Earl's music in quite a while. As per usual the tracks are often VERY short, but the production is really fascinating and Earl continually keeps his writing sharp.
The schedule of popping out with a sub-thirty minute Abstract Hip Hop album every couple years seems to have been working decently well, but I do think that at some point, Earl is going to need to really switch things up with a bigger splash. Today just might not be ... read more
Taylor seems to do her album cycles in twos. Two big Country Pop albums, two blockbuster Pop albums, two Folk albums and then Reputation and Lover are "Pop but also bad."
This crop of singles are probably among the worst from Taylor. The Man, You Need to Calm Down, and ME! are all just the quintessentially sugary, overblown pop hits that give a popstar like Taylor the reputation she has. The album cuts have a couple stand-outs (Cruel Summer obviously at the top of that list), but a ... read more
one of the real trailblazing landmarks in all things grimy, noisy, and atmospheric in rock moving forward
AS per usual, Nourished By Time delivers a modern reimagining and revival of Soul goodness
