yeah this was boring as hell.. i wouldn’t really say he did anything well unfortunately this just wasn’t that good at all. it wasn’t BAD though at least.
how in the world do you make a 17 song album and every single one sounds the exact same. that’s modern country for ya i guess. this is not a sound im a huge fan of, he’s got a nice voice, but cmon man you HAVE to switch it up or make the album not as bloated at least. “Leave Me Alone” was pretty good though, and “Keeps Me Sane” is probably gonna be stuck in my head maybe for a few minutes, i’ve heard it somewhere else.
definitely a hell of a album name, but besides that, i really really like this. Got some really nice vocals, cool album cover, blues rock with lots of trumpet, pretty awesome.
thank god for billy strings, dudes making psychedelic bluegrass, who would’ve ever thought that’s even possible. this might be the greatest bluegrass album ever, this dudes bringing it back strong my goodness. he’s also one of if not the greatest acoustic guitar player ever, billy is a once a lifetime artist. it’s crazy how he can turn a genre like bluegrass to an experience like this.
i can’t stand pop country, every single song on here feels fake and dead, pop country has lost it, it all feels ai. “Horses and Divorces” and “Uncertain, TX” boosted the score a lot because the instrumentals were fire, but i still wouldn’t even call them good songs.
It hurts me to see every single beat on here get wasted, i’m pretty sure North is adopted cause this is not Ye’s daughter there’s no way. Only reason it has points is the production but mainly those hard ass guitars.
Not much to this one but some decently sang emotional piano tunes. It’s not really interesting at all, or my type of country, but he’s got a nice voice.
Emily Nenni’s 4th studio album is a very classic country inspired project, and that’s always a nice sound to hear, but unfortunately, she needs a lot of work. I don’t feel the delivery is there, the hooks didn’t hit at all, i just don’t hear the effort or soul in her vocals, i wouldn’t say she sounds dead but it needs some work. Now, i do see a ton of potential for her in the future, those instrumentals are definitely hitting and her vocal style is really ... read more
i really have no idea what this album could possibly be about, maybe that’s the point. but anyways, this album was solid, the hooks were a little weak and it gets a little boring and repetitive but it’s still a cool prog rock album that’s got some good creativity to it. none of it stands out to me though.
very very creative and inspirational album that invented prog rock, an amazing genre.
it’s perfection. i don’t really need to say more. but this album really is perfect and nothing short of that, it feels like a movie and it’s just a beautifully crafted piece of music. the 70s was just a wild time for music, very many people including pink floyd seemed to be about a hundred years ahead of their time, this could release even in a hundred years and still be considered one of the greatest pieces of music ever. what a wild experience, and no it’s not ... read more
truly most underrated and mind blowing pieces of music that has ever been released.
“you can f*ckin drop a record whenever the f*ck you want” -Charley
I was kinda expecting this, but i didn’t really know what to expect sound wise. Charley gave a huge middle finger to his past record label dropping this album and went ahead and dropped this under his own record label. This one reminds me of Bill Withers but if he made outlaw country. Dude this sound is sooo good. You’ve got all of Charley’s past sounds built into one and it’s perfect, ... read more
pretty boring, forgettable, and nothing sticks out. plain songwriting, not any type of special sound, vocals are alright, plain hooks. “High Rise Jeans” is alright though, it reminds me of a modern “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?” but it’s still kinda repetitive.
this is one of the easiest 100s a album can get for me. it’s not even crazy to call this album life changing. the emotions and energy that is poured out onto each track by eddie vedder just singing his soul out makes it such a powerful album. his voice is amazing, the story telling, the guitar solos. it’s perfect and nothing short of that
to be making music like this in the 60s is absurd. hendrix always has the craziest of experiences everytime you listen to this man’s work, it’s a shame he didn’t live longer cause who could’ve imagined what he could’ve done with evolving technology. he’s obviously one of the greatest guitarists ever, but he also put together several masterpieces in the psychedelic rock genre and still remains a solid songwriter. i don’t even know how this guy is real, ... read more
yes she’s got an incredible voice, yes the songwriting is pretty good, but folk has never been my cup of tea. I find it very boring and i do think she’s got a great voice, but i kinda just don’t like it. I respect the skill and art, but it’s just not for me and it is not something i would revisit besides maybe the intro track “All I Want” it was pretty catchy.
JD Clayton’s debut album is amazing. Clayton puts together a Folk/Rock/Country album that feels very vintage and weirdly nostalgic for me. It feels like a camping trip with some songs in a RV and others feel like being around the campfire. Songs are really catchy and enjoyable and very feel good. Clayton covers CCR on “Midnight Special” quite well, and “Goldmine” is definitely one of my favorite songs. I’m a fan, hope we can get some some new stuff soon.
very groovy, and it rocks. guitar works pretty solid, and the beatles cover with the funky spin is very cool. unfortunately, besides the opening track, i don’t know if i’d want to revisit, who knows though.
Man this album had too much potential to go out like how it did. The first 5 tracks were perfect, but from there it just kept going downhill. Really big fan of the album cover, the albums got a cool sound that they don’t usually do. I’m still a fan of this album quite a bit and might have a little bit of bias towards it considering the other reviews, but i still am a fan. Just wish they could’ve kept their momentum up from those first few tracks, and ozzy seemed to not care ... read more
