Really emotional record. Sounds great sonically and explores a variety of different sounds and structures. The backstory only impresses me even more with the album’s quality.
Jaden Smith's music is generic and inoffensive. He does nothing to prove this isn't just the album of some rich kid who wanted to make rap music, because that's exactly what he sounds like (as he did on Syre) .
Jaden has been fed off of a silver platter his entire life. His place in the rap scene is unneeded and a fuck you to every single rapper with even the mildest of comeups (from Drake to Macklemore, they did a hell of a lot more than Jaden). Before Syre, nobody aside from a niche ... read more
idk what you guys are listening to, this is awesome and I'm gonna bump it all summer.
You all know how I feel about J Cole. This project is mostly fire and Mr. Cole is (partially) the creator of it. My opinion is evolving and so is his sound. The song with Ski Mask and Smokepurpp is wild.
I need to become fluent in Spanish.
edit: it’s Catalan. but i’m still tryna learn a new language.

man when will Young Thug stop amazing me. This song is fun and Post Malone is definitely improving himself.
Kim Petras has shown herself to hold immense potential as a popstar, with the proof being found in her many singles and the EP she dropped at Halloween last year. But this album? Unfortunately it ends up being a very generic, very bland-tasting set of songs that do not further Petras as an artist on my radar. Nothing is standout bad sure, but the songwriting is awful, the production has been done exactly the same for countless other pop singers (not to mention it sounded pretty dated), and ... read more
This is a rare occurrence: An album is hyped up to be absolutely fantastic, delivers on its promise, and everyone seems to agree. Revel in this, because who knows when AOTY.org will ever see something like it again.
Yung Gravy has done what Wes Walker was meant to do. An unironic, quality debut record.
fav tracks: Gravy for Pope, Buttered Up, The Boys Are Back In Town, Gravy Train
I was drawn in by the "apocalyptic concept album" claim, but it did not turn out to be the case. This isn't a bad album, but it is a very generic and one-dimensional one. Bastille's sound is far from refined, and they seem to still be trying to capitalize on the same techniques they used on their breakout hit "Pompeii."
Between the Champions League final and this album, Tottenham can't catch a break.
All numerical ratings aside, King Gizzard is one of the most unique and respectable bands in the business right now due to their ability to reinvent their sound multiple times in one year and actually put out good music each time. This is my new personal favorite in the Phases of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
Siouxsie and the Banshees meets The Go-Gos. I can't recommend this enough (shout out @usedtobe for bringing this to my attention).
