The Lonely Island for Generation Z
Lol at everyone rating this as if its supposed to be serious. No shit its bad. Its made by YouTube comedians who go by Tiny Meat Gang.
Although this track, as well as Moo, is far from the worst stuff out right now, it kinda sucks to see Doja going down the meme path. She has talent that can be focused towards creating really good music with at least a little bit of meaning behind it, like Amala. Unfortunately, Doja chooses to take the path of Clout Chasing, singing about being a cow and overused emoticons that haven't been funny for 5 years.
Honestly, I think there will be an increasing number of artists who will choose to ... read more
YBN YNW NLE, how many more meaningless letters will rappers put in their names for no reason.
Who actually listens to Chris Brown? Sure he has some singing chops but he doesn't actually make decent music. The fact that he keeps making music with huge names (INCLUDING Rihanna??) is proof that nobody gives a fuck about the Crimes Against Rihanna.
"But it was 10 years ago, can't he move on?"
"But he was only 19, he was young and dumb!"
First: I must acknowledge how growing up in the spotlight definitely takes a toll on your mental health. Chris Brown was like 13 ... read more
Lil Yachty is many things, and consistent is not one of them. He's one of my biggest recent disappointments as an artist, because his career started with some super unique and fun trap music (1Night, Minnesota, Water on My Face). But since blowing up, he's quickly turned into a generic and predictable trap artist. Hoping that Lil Boat 3 is a step in the right direction.
Early 2000's pop rock/emo/punk brought with it some of the worst music ever written. Exhibit 1: The Middle
This is really funny, I respect Kesha a lot for putting out a song that is so cartoonish in sound and tongue-in-cheek with the content.
After all she's been through, publicly and privately, in her professional career, one thing Kesha definitely has is integrity. Her integrity inadvertently hurt her career (due to the evil of her co-workers) but she continues to speak her mind. You don't have to like a single one of Kesha's songs, but I think its hard to argue against the strength of her ... read more
The year is 2012.
You're walking around the mall with some friends. Wearing neon glasses with no lenses, a snapback that says "Like A Boss", a t shirt reading "Every Day Im Shuffling", and thick ass Osiris sneakers. You go into Hot Topic to check out the new silicone bracelets in stock and consider buying a new color I <3 Boobies! band. The radio in the store suddenly goes silent, until everyone hears the phrase that sends the mall into a frenzy: Party Rock!! As the ... read more
There is a remix of this song for damn near every city in the United states.
Imagine pullin up to the club and hearing " I'm in Grand Rapids bitch"
2018: TEKASHI69 COMEUP, DROPS 2 ALBUMS, BILLBOARD TOPPERS, ARRESTED FOR RACKETEERING, LATER SNITCHES IN ORDER TO HAVE A LOWER SENTENCE.
2018 WAS TEKASHI'S BREAKOUT YEAR, OR THE " YEAR OF THE SNITCH "
DEATH GRIPS CALLED IT?? TIME TRAVELERS?? ILLUMINATI = CONFIRMED
Matt Ox highkey was a huge contributor to Working On Dying’s newfound success in the rap game. From Bladee to Drake, they’re killing it. My 2 favorite rap songs of the year (Creep Creeps by Yung Lean & Sanguine Paradise by Lil Uzi Vert) were produced by WOD and i see them doing bigger and better things in the future.
Poorly written songs with a catchy beat are still just poorly written songs. Music for the mass-consumption generation.
Not wasted talent, but misdirected. There's just no need for this to exist. Beast Coast is a collective of many great artists whose efforts have yielded some really awesome projects (Nyck @ Knight, Joey Badass' solo projects, The Underachievers' Indigoism, select stuff from Flatbush Zombies) but when jammed together in one tape, nothing turns out that great. Their individual takes on the hip hop genre are very similar yet distinctly different from each other, and that's what leads to the ... read more
Finally Katy Perry is back to making good pop. The Teenage Dream era of her career made a handful of the decade's best pop songs, but Witness really detracted from that positive trajectory. Hope this leads to a new album in the same direction.
Does anyone know if having 40k subs on Youtube gives me a bigger dick, or just turns me into an asshole? Asking for a friend.
