Even though he's been in the game for many many years, I think Denzel Curry very well could be the new face of hip hop in the future. Not only does he make awesome music, but he's had nothing but a good image and promotes living life by your own terms. His last album was dope and I can see him making many more albums just as good, if not better. Hopefully his label knows what they've got and doesn't try to put too much input into his releases.
Since I guess we're adding comedy albums to the site now, I'll add one of my favorites. Crazy to hear such a superstar in the industry at the time to be performing for a minuscule crowd. Dice's best work.
This hurts to say as a Bones fan, but he's gotta change it up. He's been doing the same thing for 20 albums in a row: aggressive raps mixed in with soft, whispery singing. It's cool, but now the jig is up. The albums are about 10 tracks too long; for example, this album only has 3-4 good songs imo along with at least 10 completely emotionless, boring ones, the rest I could give or take. The singing isn't good by most standards, and the production hasn't progressed in years. An album of 10 ... read more
Filler tracks here and there, but this is a promising tape for Megan Thee Stallion (probably the WORST rap name ever tho).
Really wanted to like this. But I end up agreeing with the dickhead from Pitchfork this time. This is an album of psych rock cliches that don't end up leaving any impression on me. Cool cover though.
Best song of the 2000's. One of those generational hits that will be put on "Best of the 2000's" compilations in like 10 years or whenever people start getting nostalgic for that time.
First three songs are really good. I loved them. The latter three are good but not great; just your standard synthpop.
I am in the process of coming to terms with the fact that the biggest reason I liked Brockhampton in the first place was Ameer Vann. And this Kevin Abstract album is what solidified that for me. This whole indie pop rap type of sound that he's got on this LP is cool, but it gets super tired halfway through. That's the same problem I had with Saturation 3 and Iridescence. Kevin's flow is also super choppy on a fair amount of these tracks, which is so annoying to listen to. American ... read more
The cover says it all: Q alienated his personality, and any remaining shred of charisma he once had, to drop a cash-grab of an album that panders to the trap trends of today.

Kanye cosigned X right after he died and Melly right before... who's next 👀
After a pretty good debut album last year and now this new collab mixtape with Kenny Beats, Rico Nasty has proved herself to be one of the best rappers of 2019. This shit goes so hard. Really consistent except for a couple mediocre tracks. Her recent singles have been overall really enjoyable, and now there's more bangers to add to her library.
