Hearing Avey Tare perform this album live really helped me appreciate it more. There are many layers to these songs, creating what I think is the best AnCo solo album yet. I still think some of the album is a bit too slow and bores me, but it doesn't take away from the whole washed out psychedelia found throughout the project. It's still growing on me.
I was really, really blown away by the show btw. All of the songs were a bit more upbeat and raw in concert, which I thought worked well ... read more
Since the forums on this website are pretty much dead, I want to use this review to initiate a discussion on regional underground hip hop. Underground stuff is where I find there to be the most artistic risk taken in order to make yourself heard, and in time the underground makes a huge impact on the mainstream. Prove me wrong, show me a fire scene of lesser-known rappers.

Played this over the loudspeaker at Bush International in Houston. Tried to tell the TSA that it was music specifically composed for this setting, but their tiny authoritarian brains couldn't understand and they put me on the no-fly list anyway. Eno doesn't have an album called "Music for Amtrak Stations" so I just listen to Tool when traveling now.
Dumbass took too long to drop an album after Water blew up. The Booty Tape was trash, this shit is trash, and the EP that was supposed to be a teaser for the album came out nearly a year ago. Ugly God will keep fighting people on twitter that say he fell off, but he really fell the fuck off. Sick of seeing people pretend that Ugly God has more than one good song, and I'm sick of these Lil Pump features that are offenses to the English language.
Pretty standard emo that doesn't deviate far from the genre's norms. Still makes for an enjoyable listen.
Getting really sick of the phrase "if this rap shit don't work, then it's back to..." Really tells a lot about the ambitions of an "artist"
This is actually a surprisingly great album. Don't let it fly under your radar.
Different in a good way, happy to see GFOTY changing her sound up to stand out from the rest of the PC crowd a bit more.
