It took until 101 FM for me to hear a song I really enjoyed. This seems to be one of those albums where I see why its popular, but its not something I'll ever listen to. And yes, its because shes British.
Really disappointed, but this is still a pretty good album. SMTB showed their depth and eagerness to do more than punk with the Corpus project from 2 years ago, but Dog Whistle is probably their least ambitious album yet. It also sounds way too clean, which I blame on the production, stripping away the raw aspects and boxing the band into a certain sound. The spoken interludes also destroy the album's flow and end up being just plain corny.
fav tracks: Forks and Knives, USA Lullaby
Looks like Logic changed his mind on suicide. This album is him telling you to kill yourself.
Sky Ferreira was a core member of the alt-pop scene that tumblr reblogged to death back in my formative years, so seeing something new from her is refreshing for me, as pop from back then is among my favorite. Honestly I can't believe she has maintained relevancy without dropping any new music since 2014, but this new song is pretty good. Slow building and dreary, Sky brings a less polished sound with this new track, showing a darker and matured side. Downhill Lullaby is a promising single ... read more
She's talented but this is so boring & a desperate attempt at being "quirky" pop.
Great album of psychedelic pop that would fit right in if it were released in 1968. The Art Museums pull off their version of washed-out pop very well, but it doesn't change up much within these 9 tracks.
The most essential underground hip hop project out of Broward County
Huge surprise, this is fantastic. Lifafa brings a culmination of his own south Asian culture and house music into an album that reaches across all borders. When music in a language I am not familiar with sounds this good to me, it helps me forget how shitty the world is and reminds me that we are all the same creatures.
Bridget O'Malley is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.

my exact feelings towards this album.
Punk was improved by leaps and bounds after the Ramones but I respect what they did for the Culture
Much of this album is, unfortunately, still extremely relevant in today's social and political climate. Listen to Plastic Surgery Disasters and you will find commentary on the corrupt pharmaceutical industry, the deteriorating environment, rich assholes, and whatever else makes people depressed. Not sure if the Dead Kennedys were ahead of their time or we are just completely fucked.
One of the best songs of the 60's, fuckin Spector. Why'd you do us like that?
