Yup pretty much what I thought, few more listens and it's fire
Super late to it but yayyyy 50 follwers thank you bois
Anyways another banger from what is definitely going to be Album of the Year for me. That snare is so crushing and fits perfectly in the song. The quieter parts with the isolated screaming were a little strange first listen but I'll probably fw it more after some more listens. Great song, but I prefer the first single more.
It's pretty solid all things considered. This was the kind of track that they were writing on One More Light that everyone, music critics and fans, all hated, so it kind of rubs off that way listening in 2024. I'll always appreciate more unreleased songs with Chester singing, but in the grand scheme of things compared to Lost and Fighting Myself, it's pretty mid.
Friendship ended with Code Orange, now Knocked Loose is my favorite metacore band
It's seriously insane how well mixed and produced their music is in this genre. When you look at metalcore as a whole and how so many bands sound like ugly-ass walls of noise that's been turned all the way up to sound "epic", Knocked Loose is seriously in a tier of their own. The song is really transformative and keeps you going back and forth with the rhythm and tempo. This is about to be album of the ... read more
Is it weird I fuck with this version more than the original?
I will say though, hearing Shadows' vocals more isolated makes me realize the absurd amount of vocoder he puts on it goddamn lmao
Edit: 35 > 20
I went back and tried to relisten to some of the tracks, especially after following the discourse on the internet (particularly this website). Yeah sorry I can't do it anymore, I'm just officially done with Kanye. Not to get too corny about this, but seeing one of your favorite artists of all time who helped you out of depressive episodes with projects like Kids See Ghosts fall into this pit of bile is just heartbreaking. There is no "separating the art from the ... read more

Holy crap I underrated the hell out of this album, I don't even remember why I didn't like it back in 2021 lmao
Chevelle goes for a conceptual album about abandoning our home planet in search of a new one on this album. It goes into certain themes and feelings with a journey such as the eventual clashes of leadership, the remeniscing on our past, and eventually falling back into our same issues that plagued our first world. A great concept, and is coupled with some excellent ... read more
Why are we doing this? It was laughable when Slipknot did this with Adderall, it's even more so when Mike does it. Bro is GRINDING those Spotify numbers lmao
The "conscious hip hop" tag is fucking taking me out
I didn't listen to it and I won't (hence the NR score): I've already given these two chuckleheads enough attention even bothering to type this out so I won't give them the satisfaction of another view on YouTube/Spotify. The irony of the anti-woke culture war crowd complaining about leftist "pandering" in media, while praising a song that is LITERALLY JUST PANDERING TO THE RIGHT will never be lost on me.
First album review of 2024! And oh good, Cudi is back in his flop arc
After the extremely mediocre "Intergalactic" I had assumed that Kid Cudi was just calling it wraps with music, especially since he announced his "retirement" a year or two ago. Look, I really want to love Kid Cudi and I know he's got a lot of haters on the internet: very few hip-hop artists I know can do the kind of psychedelic and harmonious type of hip-hop sound he does and I hold the Man on the Moon ... read more

THIS FUCKIN SONG
Hip Hop is not off to a good start this year boys
Absolutely disgusting choruses and breakdowns. These songs make me want to rob my own house.
Finally, bro stopped edging us on Instagram for the drop
This unironically goes hard af, especially the feature
Tfw Bring Me the Horizon does a better Code Orange sounding song than Code Orange did on their last album
I really like the grimy industrial sounding production they go for on this track. Between that, the glitched out vocals on the verses and bridge, and the over-the-top switch ups the instrumentals do, the song's really fun and engaging from start to finish. The ending bit 100% should have been scraped and left on the cutting room floor. That "la la la" with the WaCkY vocal effects ... read more

Just have to drop in after a relisten and cristen this my personal album of the year. It has been a while since I've heard an album that was this focused and consistent and this absolutely brutal. The double bass and guitar riffs are so chunky and feel like an explosion in my ears every time. The gremlin/clean vocals are an excellent addition to tracks like Scourge of the Offspring and The Insignificants; they help add a more apocalyptic and horrowing tone to Cattle Decapitation's ... read more
I was watching some Metal Instagram last night and there was a lot of love for this band, so I figured I'd give their biggest albm a check. I'm familiar with The Clincher since it was on Madden NFL's soundtrack back in the 2000s and that was a banger, so I had some good expectations. Not going to lie, from the first track I thought this entire project was going to be a bunch of decent alt-metal tracks HEAVILY influenced by Deftones, but there's a lot of strong song writing on this project. The ... read more
FELCommentary's List of Albums to Check Out #1: Pinkly Smooth's "Unfortunate Snort"
I finally tore myself away from Baldur's Gate 3 long enough to write another review (big congrats on Larian for winning Game of the Year by the way)
My high school friends and I were huge Avenged Sevenfold fans (still are) and one of them told me about a side project from the GOAT, Rathead himself, The Rev. I never really gave it the time of day, but then Life is But a Dream... dropped so I figured ... read more
Unironically one of my favorite trap songs ever. As dumb as it might sound this is what got me to do a deep genre exploration of hip-hop in college (I was a close minded metalhead at the time lol). I will be bumping this in the retirement home.
Wow that was BAD, man
Let's get it straight first. Antisemitism has absolutely no place in the modern day world and Kanye is an absolute clown for all the stupid shit he's said in the past year or so. There's absolutly no defending what he said and my biggest fear was that it was going to bleed into his music and his messages, which it seems so. One of the biggest driving forces of Kanye's music was his zaney off-the-wall lyricism in songwriting, especially the deeply impactful or emotional ... read more
