Whilst an undeniably solid album, I just found that it didn't engage me as much as I hoped it would. It did enough to make me want to return to it again in the future, but I feel a little underwhelmed on the whole.
Finally got around to listening to this album, and I have to admit that it was really enjoyable to listen to from beginning to end. A brilliant debut album that Lorde has built upon since. It weakens a little towards the end, but it is still a strong album and worth checking out if you still haven't done so
Grief in its rawest form - it makes for an album that showcases how it truly feels to lose those closest to you
This album just didn't do it for me, a couple of the songs were pretty decent but as an overall album I was left underwhelmed and honestly disappointed
A pretty solid album from beginning to end, enjoyed my experience listening to it ☺️
Majestic and beautiful, an absorbing album that is truly enchanting. Let it take you on a journey.
Whilst still an incredibly solid album, I feel I may have come into this album with my expectations a little too high. There is not a bad track to be found here, and some tracks such as Kyoto are absolutely incredible - but I found that as a whole the album did not blow me away, and I can't pinpoint exactly why that is. It is still worth checking out if you haven't already, and I'll be returning to Punisher in the future for sure - perhaps my opinion will change without the high expectations I ... read more
Beautiful from beginning to end. 'Company' was a bit weaker than the rest, but the rest of the album is incredibly solid with captivating vocals (although a bit hard to understand at times). A strong showing from Nilufer Yanya here.
A soft, calming experience with occasional bursts of energy dotted throughout. Really enjoyable
It's good - the White Ceiling demo is brilliant in all fairness. But this EP is not a high 90s scoring EP at all.
I'll admit that this type of music isn't normally my thing, but I quite enjoyed my first time with Big Thief. This album did lose me a bit through the middle section around tracks 10-16 which is why it loses marks - it sounded brilliant but a bit repetitive and uninteresting even when the sound changes (Wake Me Up to Drive). I was dragged right back in by Simulation Swarm, a track that is outstanding from beginning to end though, and enjoyed the closing third of the album.

Came here from his feature on SIMBI, and have to say that this was a pretty enjoyable EP. Obongjayar's voice is captivating and the beats are interesting and entertaining. Looking forward to his future work.
The biggest strength of this album is also arguably its biggest downfall - consistency. There are no songs that stand out as being 'weak' on this album, and a couple stand out as stronger (Up Granville took the top spot for me). However, the consistency of the tracks leads to them all blending into one continuous blur with no noticeable difference between multiple tracks. Does it sound good? Absolutely - as others have mentioned here it is a smooth, calming sound that will absorb you, but it ... read more
I adore this album - every single track is enjoyable although inevitably some are stronger than others. I find 1-5 to be a beautiful run of tracks that encapsulate you with their pessimistic tone and catchy vocals. The following songs until Prague 99 are still solid but perhaps not as memorable as the first 5 tracks, but they tie the album together nicely before Prague 99 brings a bit more catchiness back into the fold. The album closes off pretty strongly after that too.

Nice enough, nothing special but decently enjoyable. Favourite tracks are 'Honey' and also the bonus remix of 'King City' that is included online.
