WEEZER | CHAPTER SIX
Wow, what a surprise. Judging by everything I’ve heard about this record, I’d assume it was another mediocre poppy record. I mean, we’re coming back from the Make Believe era, people. What could I possibly expect from a band that seemingly burned out and wanted to make radio hits now?
Well, definitely not this. Who would have thought that Weezer would make their most fun and risk-taking record since Pinkerton? And yes, I’m not exaggerating. This ... read more
WEEZER | CHAPTER FIVE
So this will probably be the shortest review for a Weezer album I ever do, but that’s because wow this album is really bad. So bad in fact that for the first time ever in a discog dive I only listened to said record once. It starts out boring but pretty decent then just descends into different levels of awfulness and cheapness and it just has such a lack of personality. I only like Beverly Hills.
Favorite Track: Beverly Hills
Decent Tracks: Perfect Situation ... read more
WEEZER | CHAPTER FOUR
So does Weezer impress me on their proclaimed 2002 underdog album, Maladroit? No. Not really. It’s certainly a good record but somehow finds its way out of my attention with every listen, something I can’t even say about Green, which I like a lot less than this. It’s certainly got a more interesting heavy edge and some well-needed experimentation, but it winds up being just kind of boring. Like I love the opener of this album, American Gigolo, but the ... read more
Wow, that is bad. So this won’t be a very long odyssey dissecting corpse’s life and what his favorite TV show is or favorite sandwich toppings are but I do just want to vent my mind about corpse and this song.
So corpse is 23, right? So like what the fuck is this. This is an insult to those young musicians actually putting effort into their music (like some AOTY musicians for example) but this grown man can write “edgy” stereotypical 14 year old lyrics over a beat he ... read more
Elitimesfour returns with a brief EP showcasing a thicker, softer house sound. It may not be their best, but it does make me want more.
You may be thinking, “doom, is your album of the year career doing so poorly that you need to resort to reviewing a fortnite parody song by a small child?”
And honestly, I don’t have an answer to that, but this isn’t The Implicit Doom Show today, no, today we’re reviewing this..surprisingly overrated meme song?
Like, shit, this song kinda sucks. It’s not funny, at least to me, and the singing is kinda trash too? I also have no affiliation with the song the ... read more
WEEZER | CHAPTER THREE
Wow, alrighty Weezer. What a drop compared to their first two records, but okay.
Let me just first say that this is not a bad album, hardcore Weezer fans, but this album also isn’t that great like Blue and Pinkerton. It really feels like a step down. Actually a few steps down. Rivers Cuomo doesn’t even really sound that interested singing-wise on this album, and in an interview he literally said that he was just writing stuff to the instrumentals and hoping ... read more
WEEZER | CHAPTER TWO
So over the span of around four months or so I’ve finally somewhat found an opinion on Weezer’s classic sophomore record, Pinkerton. Why it took so long, well I’m not quite sure honestly. I’m going to spare you the talk of why it was so difficult and give the answer to my opinion on this album.
I think it’s...really good, but honestly kind of..disappointing. Now don’t get me wrong, this is a fun and sometimes emotional record with good ... read more
Everything about this utterly sucks so hard in what it tries to be.
Machine Gun Kelly and CORPSE aren’t trap metal, they aren’t punk, they just want to capitalize for money. There is no heart and no soul at all to either of these people. Machine Gun Kelly happens to know Travis Barker, a former rockstar, so he wanted to make the safest, most rudimentary “punk” music which obviously doesn’t hold up with all the trap beats and barely pop rock songs. And if you look ... read more
Honestly, I liked that a bit more than the last one.
I had some good times just as last time listening to this with the actual flex boy themselves, especially when Lil Mosquito was trying to wake up Brad (of Brad Taste In Music) to join and he was asleep.
I honestly think it’s more consistent, complete, had a good ending, and was a tiny bit more experimental near the ending.
This is insanely generic but in some nostalgic way I can’t give this a low score.
Ah, here goes nothing.
I suppose you all have been waiting for me to put my opinion on this album, and I will, but I must say that I didn’t choose this album to hate on because of the band’s breaking up. The band breaking up was my motivation to listen to them, after I’ve enjoyed some of their more recent hits and have nostalgic memories.
With that being said, let’s get into why I don’t like this euro-dance pop group’s sophomore classic, Discovery.

This version is kinda pretty really bad, but you should 100% check out the live version they did in 2011 at a benefit show.
Sounds 1000 times better, and Tyler’s singing is superb in that version. I just don’t understand why they did this boring, auto tuned crap when they could of just done the rock version that they did live.
This song comes together really well, so well that I get emotional listening to it.
The absolutely beautiful lowkey R&B production along with Viper’s hopeful and heartfelt lyrics about looking forward to the future and spending time with someone he loves makes this song such a warm and comfy experience.
Viper fits these more LoFi ethereal beats really well, and I think the repetition of the song works excellently, like it usually would on a Viper song.
31 Year Old alternative folk multi-instrumentalist, comic book creator, and acclaimed YouTuber Rusty Cage comes through in 2021 with possibly one of his best songs.
And when I say multi-instrumentalist, I really mean it. He plays bass, guitar, tambourine, drums, and even a sick little drum machine loop on here that he made. But I think the crowning jewel of the song is Rusty’s singing.
Rusty, and he’s even admitted this, has never been a perfect singer, not even on his perfect ... read more
