Yet another one of the best live albums ever recorded IMO.
I will add, if I reviewed this album based on only the tracks provided in the tracklist here, it would be a 100, but as I am used to the 14 track version of this album, that has a track or two I am not as fond of and that's what I'm basing my opinion on, it's not quite 100.
Honestly, I didn't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. Either way, holy shit this was amazing.
...safe to say, this is yet another one of the best live albums I've ever listened to...
They followed up their debut with an equally as amazing album. Though it might not quite reach the quality of their debut for me, it's still pretty much a perfect album to me.
One of the best rap albums I've ever listened to. From beginning to end I found myself absolutely loving every part of this album.
An even more impressive album than The Slim Shady LP. Stan is one of my favourite songs of all time but for the large majority the rest of the album is also absolutely incredible.
Except for a little dud in the middle of the album, I absolutely loved this album. I found a lot of songs I'd never heard here which I ended up really enjoying. Very pleasantly surprised.
Wow. I didn't have the highest expectations and I'm glad to say they were absolutely exceeded. This was enjoyable all the way through. No song wasn't. A very nice way to end the Rush discography and a very nice album to have my 200th review on.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this album. I found most songs on this album to be very enjoyable. There were a few songs more toward the beginning I wasn't as fond of, but from around the half way point on, there wasn't a track I didn't find at least a little enjoyment in.
This album is the definition of a mixed bag for me. Because it has the song 'How It Is' which is the worst Rush song I've ever heard and then it also has 'Secret Touch' which I absolutely loved. Most songs here were pretty mediocre, some were pretty terrible and some were very enioyable.
Definitely the most enjoyable album since 'Hold Your Fire'. There were a few songs on here I genuinely enjoyed and there was nothing overly bad on here but for the most part it was still quite boring.
It's a real shame that Rush went down this direction instead of the prog route. For the most part I was just bored out of my mind listening to this, or I found something downright bad. The only track I did enjoy a little was 'Leave That Thing Alone', but otherwise I did not have a good time with this whatsoever.
This sound doesn't suit Rush whatsoever. It seems to be a common thing that bands completely leave the style behind that got the famous in the first place. Though this can result in good albums too, in this instance that is not the case.
The first song was a very promising start and then the rest of the album reminded me that this is a post 'Signals' Rush album. It's better than 'Hold Your Fire', and definitely not bad in general, but it's also not special whatsoever.
Oh yeah, I enjoyed Superconductor quite a bit as well.
Though I think Rush already lost their charm a few albums back, here is where it really starts losing it properly, at least up to this point. 'Time Stand Still' is about the only proper highlight on the album, the rest are pretty forgettable.
