The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced

Undeniable progress for music.. However, it left me feeling as if it could’ve been more. Wasn’t a fan of some of the panning choices but I’m sure there was a lot of experimentation with that back in the day. Guitar playing was phenomenal and influenced guitarist for decades to come.

With that being said would only come back to a few songs here.

Erykah Badu - Baduizm

This was good. Really enjoyed some of the beats, was ear candy. But for the long haul I got really bored. There isn’t enough differences between the tracks to keep my attention. With that being said it was a good listen.

De La Soul - 3 Feet High and Rising

Got to “Da La Orgee” and said yuppppp this is enough. Was a fan of some of the songs they kinda took seriously, but all these corny jokes and skits they put… didn't even crack a smile out of me. Really brought down the project for me.
Some of the beats were dope though.

I don’t have too much to say about this. Wasn’t my cup of tea. A lot of the songs kinda just mushed together for me. Some spotlights towards the end of the album but that’s about it.

Portishead - Dummy

#APPLETOP100. Apple: #67———Mylist: …

Solid listen. The only track I didn’t really like was “Roads” because that snare was ear piercing. Besides that the entire project was a chill hip hop experience. With some of the most nasty beats I’ve ever heard sprinkled in there.

Would recommend.

Great album with some classic hits. Some of the songs kind of sound bland compared to songs like "Last Nite" and "Hard to Explain" But there is no real skips on here. The Distorted Vocals do wear on me a bit throughout the listen.

Metallica - Master of Puppets

Amazzzinggg Classic Thrash metal album. I don't think the world would be the same without this project.

I don’t care how influential it was It was wayyyyyyyyyyy to repetitive for me.

SZA - SOS

A rollercoaster of an album. If the album cut a bunch of songs and made it around 40min I think it would be perfect. I had a lot of fatigue by the end of the listen.

Productions clean, Interesting and carried most of then album. I do think it drags a bit towards the middle, but the tracks that are Interesting kept me itching for more.

Steely Dan - Aja

Super groovy. Really enjoyed this.

If the album was any longer it might of overstayed its welcome but I feel it’s the perfect length for what it’s going for.

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral

This album is saved by the track “hurt” it sums up the feeling of the whole album nicely.
However…. The rest of the album was REALLLLLYYY hard to get through. Weird production choices, could barely hear the vocals in the mix at times and honestly was a mess to me. I’m just glad I don’t have to come back to this. I’ll come back to hurt but that’s about it.

Missy Elliott - Supa Dupa Fly

#APPLETOP100 Apple: #75———My rank: …

Really boring carried by the production.
Super overated to me. Productions good but a little outdated imo, and the vocals just weren’t good and or cringe most of the time. Won’t be visiting this ever again.

Bad Bunny - Un Verano Sin Ti

I don’t have much to say besides I wish I could understand what he was saying :( the production is insane. And I really like the song “ Otro Atardecer”. The rest of the album is kind of a blur to me. It’s good though.

Madonna - Like a Prayer

was gonna rate this 65 but then I heard “ITS NOT IN THE COMPUTER?”

This just isn’t my cup of tea. I’m not a fan of 80s, early 90s pop. Most of it sounds plastic and cheap to me. I do respect her influence on the scene however. The only song I kinda liked was the last track because it was very experimental.

Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

#APPLETOP100. Apple: #78———My list: …

Classic album. Some of these songs will always be catchy and on the radio. The hits definitely out weigh half the album by a large margin. But an enjoyable listen throughout.

I’d say the goto slow rock album.

Lana Del Rey - Norman Fucking Rockwell!

A very emotional album. Amazing singing as expected.
A little too slow paced for me and I don’t really connect with her, but it’s very calming and would definitely come back to this if I was feeling a certain way.

Productions amazing and clear.

Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP

#APPLETOP100. Apple: #80———My list: …

This is Eminem at his best. Most songs are really good with a few stinkers in here. But even those are listenable. There’s a reason he’s trying to recreate this sound.

Neil Young - After the Gold Rush

#APPLETOP100. Apple: #81———My list: …

Enjoyable listen. Very cool and nostalgic country rock sound.
I do think it slowed a little bit in the second half of the project but it didn’t affect my listen too much. Good for road trips!!!!

50 Cent - Get Rich or Die Tryin'

#APPLETOP100. Apple: #82———My list: …

I agree with the sentiment here.
I think some songs are way better produced than others. But overall I think the project didn’t age that well. It’s still listenable compared to some of the other records from this era. The beats are hit or miss.

With that being said alot of this is cringe but fun cringe.
