This is definitely the best jazz record I've ever heard. Idk if will be the best jazz record I will ever hear, but this album captures something that every previous album I've heard from the genre just doesn't. It's the most important part of any type of music. You can get into these older jazz records if you're someone who's very interested in the actual technical aspect of how good the playing is. But the most important part, and what this record is abundant ... read more
The album falls off just a tiny bit a little later on, but that's only for 3 songs, and they're not bad, they're just not as good. Other than that almost everything here is great. Jid pays homage to a handful of artists that he is inspired by, namely J. Cole and tribe, with a full beat being almost a slowed down version of scenario. He doesn't just call back to other artists on here though, as jid's sound and pen game are wholly original here.
This album is insane. The clown is for sure the highlight, but the rest is very good as well.
Nothing too crazy, but I do enjoy it. Very relaxing instrumental jazz album that compiles some of the start of miles davis' long and storied career.
I'm sad.
The extremely soft instrumentation mixed with the melancholy lyrics and beautiful vocals makes for an expertly made old school jazz record
The mu essentials chart was built as a basic checklist for normies to get further into music with. It naturally covers many genres from the conscious hip hop of tpab to the disco inspired punk of the talking heads. Tphis is why I have decided to do this experiment on a close normie I know. My dad. He will be listening to these records with me, and I will try to see how effective this chart really is. I'm gonna make predictions at the beginning and talk about the experience afterwards. ... read more

Top to bottom just fun songs. Thug isn't the best rapper imo, he's still really good tho, but he's a great beat selector and he always gets the most out of his features. Somehow I enjoyed a nav track and an mgk track on here, but there were some features I knew were gonna work on here as well, such as j. cole, uzi, travis, and juice wrld.
With only 28 minutes and 8 tracks, there's not a whole lot of room to mess up here. In comparison to the other tapes in the series, there are less hitters as well as less misses
I mean basically the same as the first, just a little less consistent. Still really good.
Extremely impressive trap project. This honestly doesn't get enough recognition for how consistently enjoyable it is throughout the entire track list. Sure, there are songs I like more than others, but I didn't get bored a single time here, especially because of how versatile and crazy thugger can get as a vocalist.

Run dmc enter the scene to make hip hop truly break out into its own. Honestly I find this to be even more influential than the furious five record, and much more fun to listen to.

I could only find the title track. It's pretty run of the mill for this era of hip hop.
