mgk - mainstream sellout
38

This album has instruments that are in-tune. Some of the songs have hooks. There’s rapping. The features are not the worst part of this album. Oil from Bring Me sounds good. Iann Dior sounds pretty good. The final moments of twin flame are a nice moment…

Okay, for the bad parts; not one moment of this particular album is safe from being followed by a bad lyric, a bad vocal take, cringeworthy “introspective” spoken word “candid” moments. For how much a pop ... read more

Bruno Mars - Unorthodox Jukebox
78

Just not a super consistent album especially when you have some banger singles.

Conan Gray - Kid Krow
73

Great voice, solid ass debut.

Imagine Dragons - Evolve
58

Kinda offensive, decently well produced.

CHVRCHES - How Not To Drown
90

Robert Smith is king.

Lil Uzi Vert - Werewolf
94

100% deadass serious on that score. That chorus hits like whirlwind.

YUNGBLUD - Lowlife
20

Initially I liked the pacing of the chorus playing in the background, and then I really listened to the song. This is actually embarrassingly bad.

Ana Roxanne - Because of a Flower
73

Spoken word and ethereal vocals are a nice touch.

Rancid - ...And Out Come the Wolves
70

Probably the best version of ska and the little more punk is much appreciated. Still an album that shouldn’t be 19 songs.
EDIT: Time Bomb is catchy, spoiler.

Sir Chloe - Party Favors
86

It’s just an incredibly solid release. Extra marks for having no misses, extra marks for the voice and the way they use it on melodies through out the album.

Incubus - Morning View
84

Just a pleasing experience. The instrumentation is just such a breeze, no pun intended. A very pretty record with a few moments of heaviness that is very welcomed.

clipping. - Visions of Bodies Being Burned
87

There’s just an overwhelming semblance that this is a horror movie on tape. The textures, the narrative, the suspense, the action. Do you know how good an album has to be to make white noise feel contextual and beautiful and it’s just a small part of the overall album? Somehow it’s just put in the middle of the track-list and I immediately went, “Oh no, I get it. It’s that Silent Hill level of intrigue and the less you see, the more you want.”

Prince and The Revolution - Purple Rain
92

Purple Rain. That’s all.

91

Wasn’t depressed enough to give this a higher rating. Incredible second half.

Zach Bryan - Zach Bryan
82

I think the poem of Fear and Friday’s is better than the actual song.

The Front Bottoms - Talon of the Hawk
82

Over time, I think Lone Star holds up just as high as Twin Size Mattress.

TV Girl - Who Really Cares
78

Despite this being more or less a two song album, For You is another highlight that needs a shout out.

Djo - DECIDE
80

Climax is super underrated according to the general consensus.

Grimes - Visions
80

Genesis is such an amazing song that it’s a little disappointing the rest of the album doesn’t live up to it.

Death - The Sound of Perseverance
90

This album feels like it should give you some power buff for playing it. Unrelenting.
