Could have gone without the dude's devious laugh every 30 seconds. That said, this is a pretty hard and enjoyable mixtape.
You know, for being such an essential album in the metal sphere, I don't have much to say on it, other than it BANGS.
Really love how groovy this is. It's unbelievable how hard Children of the Grave goes for being a song that's nearly 55 years old.
Whole album goes pretty hard in all honesty. I really like the slower moments that break up the real head bangers on here, though I do kind of wish they were just intros/outros instead of standing on their own as interludes.

I'd like to imagine that Bryan Garris screaming, "what the fuck" in the middle of Denzel Curry spitting bars was his genuine reaction to how hard this song went.
Still holds up incredibly well for an album that is over 50 years old. Not only does the music kick ass, but the lyrical content is so dark, potent and relevant to this day.
I prefer the first half over the second, because like come on, that's like the craziest 4 song run in metal history, but the back half is still incredibly good and timeless.
Glad fans of this band are satisfied for this release after waiting 13 years. While I didn't get too much out of it, it was a pretty neat album overall.
Main issue I have is the mixing. It's that pretty generic metalcore/alternative metal mixing that's been everywhere in the mainstream since 2012. While this album sounds much better than the generic albums with that mixing, I still wish this album didn't sound so flat.
The writing is where the album really stood out. The ... read more
This album goes back and forth between "you don't feel any better from doing drugs, they just make you even more lonely" and "SEX!!!!!!! RAHHHHHHHHHH SEXXXXXX!!!!!" I kind of appreciate it for that.
When I first started getting into music, my dad told me this was his favorite album. I've been exposed to the band multiple times since then, because come on, its RHCP, only one of the most well-known rock bands of all time. However, this is the first time I've ... read more
Guy at work has been pressuring me to listen to this album, so with the new album out, it's a good time as any to finally check this out.
By all means, it's a pretty enjoyable and well produced album. The beats are smooth, bouncy and are just really pleasant to listen to. For all of the flaws I am about to list, I want to emphasize that this album sounds good and was made well.
Okay, cool, the album is kind of mid.
Cole's rapping is fine, I guess? I just don't really get ... read more
I'm not much of a Joji fan, but I do find Nectar to be a pretty great album as it has a lot of low and high-key bangers. You get that here as well, but the main issue you run into is some real crippling pacing.
There is like 25 minutes of some pretty solid stuff in here, with some wonderful beats and vocals. However, this album is boated as HELL. Even though there is some great stuff in here, as a full, complete listen, it is a real big slog to get through.
It's absolutely not the worst thing in the world, but it's definitely their worst album.
Main issue I have with it is that the boys sound like a parody of themselves on a lot of the songs on here. Take that Kyle Gordon "Every Nu Metal Song" video as refence, and you essentially get that here.
The band still puts on a pretty entertaining performance, and even at their worst they still put out some bangers. The Chapeltown Rag, Hive Mind and H377 are songs I do come back to ... read more
Whole album really got me like (⊙ _ ⊙).
I am extremely picky with my slam albums, so I'm glad to see that his one kicks a lot of ass. Absolutely stupid project filled with insane vocals, nasty riffs/pinch harmonics and drums that sound like a kickball hitting you in the face.
The vocals are especially a massive selling point here. The growls, snarls and gurgles presented here are gnarly and absolutely brutal. How the fuck is she making those noises?
Absolute banger here, and at a ... read more
Welcome to the Salty Spittoon🧂🧂. How tough are ya?💪💪
How tough am I💪💪? I ate a bowl of nails this morning...🥣🔨
Yeah, so?🤨🤨
...without any milk.🥛❌😱
This album is like the best quesadilla you've ever eaten. Some nice meat, greens and a hell of a lot of cheese.
Luckily, I'm a fan of cheese.
I've listened to a few songs from the band, lick Ghost Love Score, Nemo and The Greatest Show On Earth. I really love those songs live with Floor, as those songs live with Tarja just didn't do it for me.
I am happy to see that Tarja nails it here. Her voice is very pretty, and certainly what makes this album so memorable. I love ... read more
Calming, easy to digest music. I’d let my child listen to this so they will be ready for the hardcore stuff later in life like Ozzy Osborne and Led Zeppelin.
The definitive grindcore album for me. No other album in the genre has scratched the same itch that this one has done. This album is so goddamn violent and unrelenting.
This album is so fucking grimy and crunchy. It's hard to distinguish the reverb from the ringing in my ears, and that is a good thing.

This live version of the album smashes the studio version.
I like the studio version of flood, but man, Flood 1 and Flood 4 really drag the album down for me. They are really boring sections and make an album that has a fantastic middle section significantly worse.
That is why I am super fucking excited to see that the band performed the song live, but it's just the middle sections with a short, improvised beginning and end. This makes the whole project much more engaging,

The vocals sound like Muscle Man from Regular Show. I feel like it adds to the experience.
I almost chose this as the album I blind listen to on my way home from work today. Really glad I didn't, especially since I work night shifts.
Jesus what a fucking listen. I haven't been this spooked by an album in a while. The atmosphere here is dreadfully realized, as it is an oppressive, dark listen.
Really love the reverb and bass on here, it's monstrously thick and really keeps the ... read more
Thanks to @Lady6ov6Fire for the recommendation! I often get this album cover confused with Neurosis' Through Silver in Blood.
Extremely aggressive and unrelenting record. This thing is insane and never, ever lets up. Just brutal insanity the entire runtime. The title track is especially fucking hard and heavy and is my favorite song on the album.
I do find it buckles under its own weight at times, as it is fast and quick the ENTIRE time with very little moments where things slow down. ... read more
I finally got my hands on this album on vinyl today and it is the coolest fucking thing I own. Genuinely some of the best art I've seen printed on vinyl.
At this point I think I've got to give it the 100. Certified classic metal record, and my favorite sludge metal album.
I mean, the album has Blood and Thunder on it. I feel like that's enough to make this a certified banger album, but you also get a whole bunch of other wonderful music in here.
The guitar work and the ... read more
