A really beautiful album that’s always tugging at my heart. The way Adrianne writes these songs is really something special. Loved this album a lot.
This album is produced pretty damn well. My issues with it lay with how uninteresting the vocals and the lyrics are. I wish they stood out to me more. As is this is a well produced album with pretty much nothing of note otherwise.
The vocals can be a little obnoxious, but I can tell this album is coming from a genuine place. The guitars are beautiful, and so is the songwriting. It’s not unique but it’s a good meat and potatoes singer-songwriter joint
Overtly edgy and not fun to listen to. The production is ass and Tyler is not somebody I care for here. Despite his best effort to ruffle as many feathers as possible. This project ends up extremely dull and uninteresting. Don’t give it a listen. Even songs like Yonkers and she aren’t very enjoyable to me.
A genuinely great slowcore album that feels powerfully sad without saying a word. Just looking at the titles of these songs and listening to the same guitar melody gets me feeling sad. Keep an eye out for these guys, they’ll drop something special later on
A beautiful album filled with passion. The beats sound great, and so do all the guests. Wished there was more guests though. Kenny cooked with this one
Rest in peace Kai.
This ep really struck a chord with me. Everything here is just so real and raw and it hurts to listen to. I found its most powerful moments to be the quiet ones. Where you can hear Kai for who he is. There’s not even a lot of lyrics on here. But all of them are incredible. The production is beautifully arranged. From the soft guitars to the loud shrieking of the shoegaze sections. Overall, this EP is indescribable. No matter what I say it won’t do it or Kai ... read more
What a powerful, beautiful, dark, and twisted album. The guitar tones on here are stupidly powerful. The ambiance is also really damn good. Sometimes I felt as if the album was kinda boring but other times it’s Boris at their a-game. Highly recommend
I did not like this thing at all in the first half. I thought it sounded weird, clunky, and morrissey making a shoegaze album. But to my surprise, it really picked up in the second half and has some genuinely great songs. Too bad that first half is kinda dog
Some basic ass pretty ass euphoric ass shoegaze good job boys. I am glad they improved tenfold on their album this year though. They beat the generically sounding good allegations they’d cumulate on this album which is nice
Godspeed was my most listened to artist this year. And I’ve always wanted to come back to this project. I just never had the time. But sitting down with it again made me realize how much I love this band. This album is the definition of world building. From the first note I was thrusted into this cold, apocalyptic, foggy world. The soundscapes on this album is phenomenal. The voice recordings are incredibly well done too. That first one is super iconic and can be fully recited by any ... read more
Really really good first half. And then sadly becomes less and less interesting in the second half. I thought this album was gonna be better than their first, but I don’t think it is. While this album is more polished and sounds stunning, their first was just so raw in its beauty. It’s a preference thing I know but I still feel it
This is the album I would play if somebody asked me what album I’d play in space. It’s nice and floaty and ethereal, until it decides to chuck you out into space while you’re fighting for your life. It’s loudly beautiful
This album is a mindbending, immersive experience. People say it gets boring near the back end but it really doesn’t. It maintains its cool and unique atmosphere the whole way through. The vocal samples are beautiful, the metal gear solid drums are funny, and it’s just a wonderful album to feel lost in.
Another wonderful W for Steve. I wish it was longer and more developed but it is still a wonderful experience.
