Vince Staples - Vince Staples
71

Pretty good album, but nothing that mind blowing. It’s short, sweet, and to the point. Good job

XXXTENTACION - ?
29

Really bad I’m sorry. There’s no artistic evolution here at all. It’s just a faker version of 17, which I already didn’t like. The music here isn’t even that good either. Sometimes it’s generic with nothing special, but a lot of the time it’s just unlistenable with horrible execution. Yeah it’s bad

Grouper - A I A : Alien Observer
91

One of the saddest, yet calming and beautiful albums I’ve ever heard. I just wanna float around listening to this thing

Lift to Experience - The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads
92

A unexpected masterpiece. This album feels like I spun three different albums and tried to make an album but it weirdly works so goddamn well it’s insane. The post rock, shoegaze, storytelling, and religious themes on here mesh so well and make for an album with very powerful moments. Sometimes it feels like not a lot of interesting things are happening, but those explosions make up for it.

Jon Hopkins - Singularity
77

A really unique and interesting soundscape. At points this album feels like a wonderful mix of ambient and house. But sometimes it feels a little boring and like it doesn’t know what it wants to do. But overall, I found myself really digging the overall vibe of this album

Sweet Trip - You Will Never Know Why
48

One of the safest albums I’ve ever heard. There’s not a lot of unique or interesting ideas being realized on this album. It’s just kinda like vdc but less interesting and not as good sounding. It shocks me that this came after. Because an album like this sounds like a base for a band. Not something that comes after. Very disappointed in this album. Wish it were more unique and took risks.

George Clanton - Slide
87

Should have slid into her dm’s like this :(

Oneohtrix Point Never - Betrayed in the Octagon
72

This album is pretty cool. Nothing really all that mind blowing here. Just some nice solid electronic tracks. Daniel will go on to make actually phenomenal work though. So, as a first attempt it’s pretty solid

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
84

I really did enjoy this album, but a lot of the time it felt really off and unintentionally goofy. And that sucks. I thought this was gonna be the album that clicks with me. But not really. It’s very good. The Beatles can make good music. But sometimes this thing can either be boring or unimpressive. But overall, I still did really enjoy all the amazing highlights and this album is a highlight to me

The Ladies - They Mean Us
56

Sounds like if zack hill and death cab for cutie had a baby

Tapeless - qqqq
75

Noisy and cluttered, but it’s pretty damn cool. I love the weird 8 bit sounds and melody’s throughout the song. It is clearly a first attempt at a certain sound and is very rough around the edges but that also gives this little guy some spunk. The song has something to prove and I like that

Low - HEY WHAT
86

This album brings a phenomenal soundscape to the table. The noise elements are crafted so well. The rock aspects themselves also weave into these noisy melodies is super cool and interesting. Great album liked it a lot

Valium Aggelein - Black Moon
61

Duster try to make something interesting challenge (impossible).

This is fine. It’s good in the background but when I tune in, there’s nothing that cool or interesting going on.

what is your name? - the now now and never

A wonderful listen. It’s brimming with life and character. A definite listen for anybody wanting some more modern and original takes on shoegaze. It doesn’t say a word yet it feels so powerful you know

FKA twigs - MAGDALENE
78

Somebody give this woman a hug Jesus Christ

The Roots - undun
91

A beautiful hip hop album with some of the coolest production and bars of the 2010’s. A great highlight from that decade that I wish I listened to sooner

SALEM - King Night
66

This thing isn’t great, but I do greatly respect the sound and ideas this album is going for. It’s a nice, solid vibe that doesn’t stay for too long. It’s nothing mind blowing but I enjoyed it while it was on

Chris Travis - Pizza and Codeine
80

Now I want some pizza and codeine

Blue Smiley - return
76

Some cool sounding shoegaze that either has really good ideas or just sounds like regular uninspired shoegaze, which isn’t a bad thing but still

Mac Miller - K.I.D.S. (Kickin' Incredibly Dope Shit)
74

Very charming album with a lot of heart. It’s not great, but it’s clearly not trying to be. It’s just trying to be stupid and fun. And sometimes the flows and production are actually impressive, it gives me a giant smile to see mac feel happy, even though he definitely wasn’t
