It sounds good and all. I just don’t think this album is nearly as powerful as master of puppets or especially ride the lightning. The riffs are good but they’re never next level to me. And the drumming is now starting to annoy me with how basic and formulaic it is.
Some moments here are incredible. With great production and delivery from Travis. But other moments just fall flat for me. I think it’s the forgettable production that really kills a decent amount of this project. I enjoyed it overall, I just think it could have been and done so much more.
A pretty good funk album. It’s produced well enough and it’s pretty catchy with its sound. It felt like I was at an underground show with like ten people in the crowd. It’s a nice atmosphere
It’s pretty good. It’s not boundary breaking or revolutionary but it’s produced pretty well. The vocals are mixed so low that I can’t hear anything though. I know that’s an artistic choice but it still kinda pisses me off
Tim hecker is a masterful world builder in every sense. The way every song is structured and paced and how they all sound and come together is truly mind bending. I’m glad I started off this year by listening to one of my favourite musicians of all time.
Prince is such a cool guy. He owns these tracks truly. His stage presence is unmatched. Where this album falters is the pacing. The middle of these tracks are often empty with just some guitars and drums with prince not really trying. But he is a legend and I’m glad this was the last album of 2023
An absolutely beautiful mixture of slowcore and electronic. While some songs definitely drag on, most here are absolutely beautiful and take me to another place entirely. Also my goat oneohtrix point never gets mentioned here so that adds some points.
It’s fine. It can get pretty corny at times but the production is solid and ski mask is usually an interesting mix presence. The flows are often make or break for me. They’re either really hard or make me cringe
Definitely his best work. The production is often very good. With catchy hooks and flows to back them up. These don’t really form to make a coherent album but the songs themselves slap.
I got into music because of rap music. So it’s surprising that I haven’t listened to that much 2010’s trap music. So for the next few days, I’ll be reviewing some of the later classics. This album is consistently pretty good album with some very notable standouts. Some songs don’t add a lot and there’s quite a lot of filler in the tracklist. But uzi is still infectious throughout this entire album.
Merry Christmas everyone. Today, I wanted to review an album from an artist who’ve I’ve grown to really love this year. Oneohtrix point never. This album is very good. It is produced insanely well and has some cool vocals on it. My main gripes are with the pacing. It feels like the really cool highlights are stretched over this boring, overdone radio concept. But overall, really enjoyed this one.
Loved it a lot. The calm and lush production mixes beautifully with SZA’s beautiful singing voice. All the features kill it, it’s effortlessly cool, catchy, and consistent. Wasn’t that big into SOS but I’m glad this album does what it couldn’t and have great songwriting too. SZA is so bad dude I want her to step on me.
As a piece of art, I respect this album a shit ton. It’s like looking at somebody slowly going insane in an insane asylum. It’s not fun, but you can’t look away. But the album itself is nearly unlistenable. I think that cudi going grunge to get out his feelings is a good idea. The execution is just really horrible. With horrible vocals, boring guitars, horrible pacing, and bevis and butthead showing up randomly. The skits add nothing at all. They are a horrible pace breaker ... read more
Boring, pretentious old ass pop music with no whit or charm. Sometimes it is produced really well but other times it feels like I should be playing super Mario 64. The lyrics are really bad. So boring and blanket. I do see where the hype is coming from. Because like I said this album produced very well. I just found it a slog. Like why are these songs six minutes? No song on here really earned its length in my opinion. Especially the outro.
A beautiful masterclass of vaporwave. It’s insane how this pretty much the debut of an entire genre and it’s this well polished and crafted. Daniel truly is the goat
A beautiful album with an atmosphere that stands out. Which I wouldn’t expect seeing as this came along with the whole indie pop craze. But the songs are very well made. With catchy hooks, stellar production, and soothing vocals. Good job bear boys
An amazing record with a ton of charm and heart put into it. The vocals aren’t the best but that doesn’t really matter to me when they’re being delivered in such a charming way
