It’s good. It’s very good in fact. The production and rapping from everybody is polished to a tea. But, that’s what makes this album less interesting to me. When somethings this polished, it’s hard for me to get invested into. And sometimes I don’t really like listening to this thing. Like, I understand it and how it’s Kanye’s magnum opus and all. But, I don’t want to listen to Kanye cry over a vocoder for three minutes or that chris rock skit or ... read more
More like erection wizard
I love this album. It packs such an emotional punch with everything. The slow, sluggish riffs backed with the loud as hell drums and the lo fi recordings. The lyrics are also powerful. Mainly revolving around drugs and the clear power they have over the singer. Overall, incredibly good album
Happiest British civilians
This EP gives so much hope for this group. It’s so damn good. The melding of post rock, post punk, and jazz rock may have been done before, but not like this. The vocals are so filled with emotion at every time they turn up.
Didn’t really love this one. Felt very long winded without much direction. Also wasn’t a fan of how hard the singer gets sidelined. It feels like he sings for like the first minute and then the band plays the rest. But it is high quality and pretty catchy
I fucking hate the banjo it’s one of the most goofy sounding instruments I’ve ever heard. Other than that this albums a very pretty and beautiful folk experience
A grand and bold statement from one of the most unique people in the current music scene. This thing is bold, grand, and lyrically dense to say the least. What this album isn’t, is lacking in things to say. Which is very refreshing. But, the album does drag on quite a lot. And for the subjects it handles, can be quite the unpleasant listening experience. But that’s not to say anything here isn’t quality music. Because it is. There’s just a lot of it and a lot of it is ... read more
An obvious masterpiece. Everything here is essentially flawless. But I feel like with an album like this, you have to fully pay attention to it to get everything out of it. Which is not a bad thing at all. You can have worse problems than having too much genius in one room. But, sometimes I don’t want to fully listen to this thing. But yeah. It makes sense that this thing is as critically and commercially acclaimed as it is. It’s most likely will be the best rap album ever made ... read more
First half is really something special. Where as the second half tends to not stick the landing
What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this album. It’s a modern day classic at this point that sees two incredibly talented rappers hone in and create an incredible listening experience to anybody. I do wish we got more material though. But, I think the very short length does help it. But yeah, it’s a classic in my eyes
Boris continues to grow into becoming one of my favourite bands and this album is excellent. Tracks 2-4 is probably one of the best three track runs on any album I’ve heard
Eh. It’s okay. It feels way too long for its own good and the only real reason to listen to it is for its riffs. Which I do enjoy. But the other albums Metallica have made are way more than just their riffs which kinda makes this album useless in my eyes but oh well
Speechless.
I haven’t really heard an album that’s really gotten to me. I’ve listened to a lot of good albums yes. But none like this. None that are this beautiful in every way. The way Joni can create this blue, bittersweet world is awe inspiring. One of the best albums I’ve ever heard and one I will likely come back to again and again
It should not be this easy to make an AOTY contender…
Blonde is an obvious masterpiece. It really felt like four years of hard work to make something like it. I think this is a great album to start a music journey with. It’s quite simple at times production wise, but that’s what I find genius about the album. It’s relatively stripped down production allows listeners to fully listen in on Frank and who he is.
