I’ve decided that I’m gonna go back and review all the albums I first listened to when getting into music. The first one being this one. Shout out to my friend (yk who you are) for sending me this almost two years ago. But I’m finding as of now that I’m looking too forward and I just need to look back for once. And that’s what this is about. Now for the actual review lmao. This album is pretty good. Some moments are really well produced and showed quadeca could ... read more
Despite its industrial production and MC Ride’s aggressive rapping, it still has some of the catchiest choruses I’ve ever heard. A modern day rap masterpiece that deserves all of its flowers
Absolutely soul crushing. Yet oddly hopeful in a sense
Some very high quality ambient music to just sit back and relax to. But I do vastly prefer Hecker’s more ambitious undertakings like ravedeath 1972 and especially virgins
An odd outlier in Radiohead’s discography. While it is good, it does feel beneath the band in a lot of ways. As a comeback album, it’s underwhelming. But as just a regular album, it’s pretty alright I enjoyed it well enough
One of my favourite albums. James Murphy is one of my favourite people in music and this album shows off his talents in such an infectious way. It’s just so good you guys listen to it right now. Hell I just finished it and I wanna go back to it
This album is great. I love the meshing of idm and classical piano work. But, I feel like the sequencing of the album wasn’t really on point. At one point, you’ll want to be dancing where as two or three tracks later you’ll be on your knees crying
The story is cool at points, but also boring. Same story with the production and Saba’s skills as a rapper. Overall, it’s a good album with a interesting story to tell, but doesn’t succeed on all fronts
I find that I’m often picky with my music. I like mostly everything. I love a lot of music. But not a lot of music I consider to be a 10/10 perfect you know. But, when I first listened to this album back in May, I knew it was special. I knew it was going to be one of my favourite albums ever made. And coming back to it, yeah it’s still true. Björk is an absolute genius. The lyrics depicting this soft and sweet love story is so addicting to listen to and I get lost in it every ... read more
A really fun debut. Not really a masterpiece but a really fun and well made album
Rest in piece Bobby. Thank you for giving this absolutely stunning and fun album
A great and classic funk experience with some awesome shredding guitars and lots of heart
(Edit: 95-97) I know two points isn’t a huge jump, but I think about this album around three times a day. It’s just such a phenomenal showing of everything that makes music music. The catchy hooks, the phenomenal pacing, really everything on here is near flawless and it will stand as a top ten album from the 70’s.
“The greatest left turn in musical history”
Often said about this album. And while it might be one of the better ones, and is a really great album on its own, does struggle to compete with its other brother that came before three years before. Sometimes I find it does drag, but that’s very few and far in between. And the highs are incredible. From the sweeping beauty of how to disappear completely to the electronics on idioteque. This album is a great atmospheric piece
Scaring the hoes volume 0
This album is a modern masterpiece. The lo fi and kinda shitty mixes on this album play into its strengths a lot by feeling like it’s just gonna collapse in on itself at any point. That snare lives in my head rent free.
Insane. Every track is pushed to its max in terms of production and vocals. A true pioneer in black metal that everybody should listen to if they wanna delve into the genre
Lots of great ideas on this album. But there’s just way too much dead space to get to the actual good stuff on the album. It’s like a post post rock album
Earned reputation. If moonchild wasn’t on here it’d probably be a 10 but other than that this thing is near flawless. It hasn’t aged a day despite coming out more than fifty years ago and was one of the first to truly show the world how epic rock music can get
