Honestly this is a pretty neat evolution of Swans' sound and a cool benchmark in the band's development. I like the grand yet crushing presentation. And the weird chorus vocals are cool, reminds me of the Black Lake from Dark Souls. But, this also turns out to be one of Swans' most tedious efforts despite it's concise runtime. There is just not much progression on the songs.
Can't say I love this project as much as Xiu Xiu's other work. Personally the more pure folky sound is not as interesting to me. Maybe because it seems to come at the cost of their more noisy elements. But overall Unclouded Sky still has a lot of good stuff and some very atmospheric and slightly ambient sound work
When I first listened to this album I didn't get it. I didn't understand why it's considered the best Xiu Xiu project by most fans. A lot of the acoustic moments were too quiet for me and the loud was too little. But after many listens and experiencing many more emotions in just a year of two I understand. This album is pain. Good god this is entrancing. It's so pretty and so quiet yet so detailed. Every minute is laced with beautiful little details in the instrumentals. Lugubrious is just all time classic. The rest is prefty fun with som highlights like Maniac Drugdealer. But maybe a tad bloated and the tongue in cheek bars can wear a little thin.

I feel like this should be my favorite punk album of all time. Everything on here is so amazing. The playing is ferocious. The energy is off the charts. Black Thoughts bars are So Damn Good. There's is almost not a single moment where I am not thoroughly enjoying what he is saying and the way his is saying it. I just wish he had an ear for slightly more interesting beats

Ok I'll be honest I have just never loved Big Pun and I have no good reason. Maybe it's just something about the voice of the style but he has just never grown on me. Yes, dude can flow like no one's business and it often sounds pretty cool. Still just not a fav. Overall this project is a little bloated and the "sexy" raps with soul are just not very pleasant to me, but still quite solid and a great display of Pun's talent.
This is probably Wayne's magnum opus. A Massive collection of tracks and damn it I think he pulls it off. There's just so many fun classic bangers on here like A Milli, 3 Peat, Mr. Carter (yes it's frontloaded). And Dr. Carter is genuinely hilarious
Ok now this is more prime Wayne. Catchy bouncy banger beats and goofy clever braggadocios rhymes. This album is kinda pure fun and has great highlights. Still bloated and not without it's share of weak points cause it's Wayne
a fun if not pretty chill collection of beats and rhymes, mostly feels like keeping warm in between their big projects at the time
This is FOB's best album. The songs are more interesting, the production is more diverse, the whole sound is more enjoyable I feel. While this style of sappy pop punk will just never enthrall me they did a pretty good job here.
Some pretty endearing pop-punk and definitely a bit of unique sound and style. But not quite enough to make me love it. Too much pop and not enough punk really

"I totally understand what you mean when you talk about patience. I had a very similar experience attempting to listen to Swans To Be Kind and only later being able to finish it and love it. Having that experience before listening to IRA is probably what made this such an easy listen for me personally. It is truly a profound experience to have in terms of learning and growing in your ability to consume art. I will fight you a little bit because this album has also had a life changing effect on me. This album may be the single most inspiring piece of art I have ever experienced. I have thought about this album every single day since finishing it because every day I feel a fundamental Need to make music like this. It truly is a special album."

"@Mychal I've listened to his back catalogue Extensively, trust. This is the same lines about pronouns and Caitlyn Jenner for like 10 songs. Don't worry girl, I get it. The idea of slim shady doesn't just go over my head. Like I said Guilty Conscious 2 was decent cause it was the actual "Death" part of that concept. "@Dallamalla For me touching a good amount of other genres doesn't always mean that it's diverse. Yes it hits on pop, altpop, electronic, indie, synthpop, even a bit of rock, etc. But to me a lot of the diversity in that kinda gets washed away under the soft alt pop style. It all has a cool soft blue filter over it. It takes a lot of different inspirations but makes them more one note. And that may not be a bad thing cause with some albums it can make them cohesive, which it does do here, but I also think it takes away the flavor of those influences. To again reference the synths on Chihiro, they stand out on the album, but there's just not that much more to them outside the soft pop sound, ie not much diversity."
