Ghost’s verse on Deer God is probably the best thing in all of haunted mound
With the Glow Part 2 Phil Elverum managed to create an introspective, ambitious, intimate, dynamic and sensitive album. Masterfully blending aspects of indie folk and low-fi recording techniques, this album conveys a true sense of genuine and beautiful humanity, that few other works can rival. A story is painted here through poetic lyrics filled with wonderful natural imagery. With each layer and every sonic detail that unfolds, another facet of emotion is revealed.
