Half this album is full of trap classics and I do believe this is an essential listen for anyone getting into melodic trap/cloud rap or just any modern subgenre of hip hop. may not be everyone's cup of tea but if you ask me while its far from perfect, this album and eternal atake have both become comfort albums of mine
much grittier than their first album, but they still fucking KILL every single verse. one of the best hip hop albums of all time
Malice fucking killed every verse on this project, so did push but malice was above push here and they hadn't gotten to the same calibre until their sophomore album. Push gives some super catchy performances and flows here and... well just look at the rating. the performance gap isnt all that big and this album is still immaculate
fuck this is so boring. the lyricism is awful, singing is boring at worst and ear piercing at worst. i dont even wanna talk about this album cause this is even worse than the dave blunts album.
finally got around to this, while its my least favourite album that they've put out, thats more of a testament to how great their discography is
A beautiful concept and beautiful album. a weirdly sad yet also whimsical project that captures the childlike mindset of the concept present in the album. we have entered a second jazz rap renaissance between little simz and dixon releasing on the same day and most artists outside the mainstream embracing the style.
I didnt listen to his last record before this came out but i wish I did since this project is even better than that album which is also near perfect. Dixon is proving himself to be ... read more
unexpected giggs feature off the bat...
Slick rick is back at the ripe age of 60 making a grand return to hip hop. i did not have insanely high expectations given his last project was in 1999 but then remembered LL being only a few years younger dropped a pretty solid album last year. the biggest issue with this album by far is that some of these songs really drag. slick rick still has the flows in him and some pretty solid lyrcism and production to boot but songs like angelic get super ... read more
a legitamately really solid effort from tecca, its no masterpiece and isnt on the level of his last record "plan A" but both singles were very good signs for this album and the album doesnt dissapoint as it has melodic hits as well as some bangers. boys dont cry is a highlight when it comes to purely being a banger and tic tac toe with ken carson while not being their best collab, is still pretty solid.
If I had to critique something, I think the album could have used more features ... read more
the most beautiful album i've heard this year. Simz delivers her usual immaculate lyrcism while getting even MORE personal than ever. Simz' artistry has not changed one bit. This album just barely escapes my top 3 of the year due to having one skip to its name, which granted 'young' is not that bad it just doesnt feel like it fits all that much.
each instrument, sample, vocal line, bar and flow all work together to make another close to flawless album in simz discography
tha fix before tha 6 was a bad sign for this album, but i still really had hope for this album. it started out pretty good, welcome to tha carter and bells i thought were great but hip hop felt way out of waynes style and feels just like a bigxthaplug track. sharks is solid, sean SNAPPED but wayne was just aight and I fuck with banned from no, even if im not the biggest fan of seeing wayne on this production he snapped on here.
Okay so what about the rest of this album? bad from mediocre. the ... read more
Genuinely incredible and easily taylors best work, the shock i had on my first listen to this album a year ago has not changed
Not a taylor swift hater, but this album is the definition of mediocre. not only is the release of it kind of a mess due to all the different versions but taylors songwriting got significantly worse after it peaked with the 2 sister albums prior to this
50 at his most hungry if you ask me. features his best flows and delivery's that hes got and i honestly really want this tape on streaming
kinda overrated, but its definitely a good album. definitely a "you had to be there" moment and this album has aged pretty well but this isn't one of the best debuts of all time and certainly not up there with albums like doggystyle and illmatic like some people make it out to be.
in my opinion, the greatest EP of all time and one of the most blunt and harrowing pieces of art ever made. Earl lays all his emotions in a short and poetic fashion depicting depression in such a way that makes me feel like im back in that place every time. a piece of art is very rarely powerful enough to bring me back to a time period and not just in a nostalgiac or a 'reminds me of that' way but in an 'im experiencing this shit again' way.
I've struggled with anxiety ... read more
