Records like this make me wonder how many there are out there, lying on the shelves of abandoned music stores…
As a community, we should be ashamed to have let Emperor X fall through the cracks. Western Teleport’s bittersweetness is truly unparalleled.
It’s as if a good old friend invited me to his basement to show me a project he’s been working on for months, and I’m the only person to whom he’ll ever show it because of the bond of trust & respect ... read more
I guess I've always been searching for albums that make me feel like the main character in some indie movie, and this is one of them.

'Music for 18 Musicians' represents everything I love about life: travelling, exploring, discovering, learning, and most of all, cherishing, because as Joni Mitchell said, "you don’t know what you got ‘til it’s gone".
I hope I never forget this record and the instant peace of mind it brought me. This is music at its purest state.
Just Pretend It's a Flower is a heartfelt debut from my friend, Quebec singer-songwriter Nicholas Gardner. In his set of short tracks, EFIL explores numerous ideas that aren't narrowed down to folk territory but rather sourced in various artists' styles such as Jai Paul, James Blake and D'Angelo. The final outcome isn't always a consistent listen but an extremely enjoyable and oftentimes beautiful one.

This is the scariest listening experience I've ever had because of how fucking real it is. I usually sense the filter between art and reality but not in this case.
"[Debut & Post] were very much like greatest hits of my musical passions for all my life, and I knew that it would take two albums to do that. That's why I called them Debut & Post, before and after of getting rid of the back catalogue almost, gracefully, because you can only move on if you do that."
Post encapsulates an adventure like no other. It's a record that has brought me great joy, excitement and enlightenment throughout the years. Like many other projects ... read more
Part of what makes my musical journey so special is discovering the modern takes on the classics that shaped my personal taste.
I'm happy to put Merriweather Post Pavilion alongside Helplessness Blues as my generation's Pet Sounds, just like Two Star & The Dream Police is my generation's Purple Rain and Vampire Weekend's debut is my generation's Graceland.

In a way, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours perfectly sums up human nature: purity & innocence underlies our pain & sorrow.

The root of alternative pop, Pet Sounds is a wonder of the world that has shaken me to the core with its hypnotic ethereality. There's nothing like it.

When I listen to Blue, I'm always haunted by this vision of walking past a stranger staring at me through a window and once we make eye contact, we instantly know each other's story.
The anxiety-inducing fast pace of our world has only increased people’s need for love and comfort. Hats acknowledges and fulfills this universal desire by transporting its listener into a magical place, just for one night.
On Vespertine, Björk becomes an angel with spread wings.
My faith in humanity is restored.

I know it's of my own free will, but I have to express how fucking grateful I am for life leading me to this project unearthed deep in the woods.
I just love how it embraces the imperfections of the human experience. This album reminds me that there's absolutely no meaning to my life so why waste my time desperately searching for one and not just live?
