Fennesz - Endless Summer
85

Tracklist on Spotify has two more songs, my rating is based on that
I really enjoy the warmth throughout the album, it lives up to its title. The best way I could describe the vibe I get is it varies from sounding like a peaceful summer night to a hot, claustrophobic summer day. This was the first Fennesz album I listened to, and really expanded my ambient music taste

Fav songs: Endless Summer, A Year in a Minute, Caecilla, Before I Leave, Happy Audio

BROCKHAMPTON - SATURATION III
92

Ive always wondered what my ranking of the Saturation trilogy would look like. I’m pretty sure I always knew that I liked 2 the least, but I never knew if I preferred 1 or 3
After recently listening to all three again, my rankings are: 3, 1, 2
I do love 1, it has some bangers, some more heartfelt tracks, and overall just has a nostalgic sound to me, but I've listened to songs like Milk and Face so many times that the magic isn't there as much anymore
2 has some great songs and ... read more

Fav songs: GUMMY, SUMMER, TOKYO, SWEET, JUNKY, QUEER

BROCKHAMPTON - SATURATION

Pusha T - DAYTONA
70

Fav songs: If You Know You Know, The Games We Play, Come Back Baby

Tyler, The Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST
66

Pretty hit or miss for me. Tyler, Dj drama, and most of the guests bring great energy to the songs, but I still find myself simply putting up with a number of songs on here

Fav songs: WUSYANAME, MASSA, CORSO, SWEET/I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE, RISE!

XXXTENTACION - A GHETTO CHRISTMAS CAROL
82

I mean it's only 9 minutes of music, but it kinda slaps

Adrianne Lenker - Bright Future
85

Great album front to back. I think my most listened to release this year, and I expect to listen a lot more

James Blake - James Blake
78

I really the small and sometimes subtle glitches and sounds that contrast really well with the otherwise beautiful music
Fav songs: To Care (Like You), Measurements, The Wilhelm Scream

Vince Staples - Vince Staples
56

I remember seeing lots of hype for this when it came out. Being a fan of Kenny Beats and some Vince songs, I was also pretty excited. However, as with many Vince Staples songs and albums, I found it pretty boring. Idk, I like his voice and rapping, but just don't like his music

Fav songs: ARE YOU WITH THAT?, LAW OF AVERAGES

bliss3three - C3L3STIAL天の
72

REBIRTH is beautiful. love the textures and sampling on this album.
Fav songs: REBIRTH, C3L3STIAL_CITY, carousel. {i}, carousel. {ii}

Travis Scott - ASTROWORLD
77

Fav songs: ASTROTHUNDER, STARGAZING, CAN’T SAY, YOSEMITE

Kanye West - Late Registration
94

Maybe not as humorous as College Dropout, but there's more sentiment and deeper tracks on this album
Fav songs: Roses, We Major, Hey Mama, Heard 'Em Say, Touch The Sky, Skit #4

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F♯ A♯ ∞
70

I listened to this on Spotify and the tracklist was way different, idk what’s up with that.

Anyways, I had no clue what to expect with this album. All I knew was that people liked it a lot, and there was spoken word.

I wasn’t really blown away by it, although I did go into it with high expectations. Will definitely be returning to this, as well as checking out other albums by them

Xiu Xiu - Plays The Music of Twin Peaks
77

Ive been trying to get more into Xiu Xiu recently, as well as debating watching Twin Peaks post season 2. This album kinda convinced me that doing both would be a good thing
Still prefer og soundtrack, sorry Xiu Xiu

Fav songs: Laura Palmer's Theme, Into the Night, Audrey's Dance, Harold's Theme, Falling

Bearcubs - Ultraviolet
80

Underrated album
Fav songs: Wolves, Slow Highs, The Search, idk I like pretty much every song on here

Soul Glo - Diaspora Problems
89

Been listening to this since it came out, mainly in the gym. Idk if I’ve ever sat down and really listened to it, but from what I hear at the gym this slaps

(Edit): 81 -> 89
Can’t get enough of this tbh, a few songs I still don’t love but a majority of them are peak

Fav songs: GODBLESSYALLREALGOOD, Jump!!, Gold Chain Punk

Ugly - Twice Around The Sun
74

I don't really have much to say about this. Ig kinda sounds like BN;CR if they made folk music

Fav songs: I'm Happy You're Here, Sha, The Wheel

"Good review Bread. I think it is ok to not have an introspective take on a piece of work like this, especially if it is still fresh. Bjork's writing can be pretty abstract - which adds to the magic, but also lends itself more to feeling the music as opposed to analysis"

"@dontneedauserna Lol to each his own I think the Injury Reserve album has lots of cool ideas that ive never heard other artists do, and because of that I find it not boring since it keeps my attention, I also just think it's enjoyable to listen to. This Vince album was pretty tame to me. I feel like ive heard Vince make similar songs before. I've also heard Vince make some really interesting songs, and I felt they were lacking on this album. But yes you're right, we are now square"

On gabs7's review of JPEGMAFIA - SIN MIEDO
"I understand this take, Im also not a huge fan of this single. but you gotta think back to the singles he's put out for albums in the past, which are typically his most straightforward tracks. Lean Beef Patty, Hazard Duty Pay, Trust, Jesus forgive me, etc. I think this is another case of a song like that, cuz I had the same thoughts for some of those songs, and then ended up liking them a lot more when the album came out"
