I mean your ears are broken if you think this album deserves under an 8/10. That said, it is the type of album you play for the mood from beginning to end, not really the mind-blowingly-good songs you add to playlists (with some exceptions ofc), but very solid jazz rap/neo soul tho, that's just my listening style.
Saw people hyping this album up the moment it came out but it got backlogged, and I finally got around to it. Imo it was a little overhyped— some songs feel fun and fresh, but most of the back half didn't captivate me as much. That said, I'm not a lyrics person, so maybe I missed some incredible writing, that the rest of the listeners are praising!
Edit: lol wasn't in the loop about how she released all these as singles, nice detail.
Great 90s hip-hop record. Really solid boom bap beats, jazz elements, classic 90s lyricism and flow, and great vibes throughout.
Obviously, this is very jarring if you’re an outsider to the rage subgenre. But for an album packed with chaotic, unhinged, ultra–avant-garde sounds, it honestly barely misses. It is a lot for me personally, though.
That said, a lot of rage ends up feeling like an alpha-male, testosterone-overflow idea of rap (looking at Ken Carson), where it’s mostly just shitty yelling over mediocre trap beats—and this really doesn’t fall into that category.

Ths album is magnificently good. Will be a future goddamn classic. Every single song on this project is really, really, great pop soul. People who listen to Olivia Dean have good taste.
Decent, well put-together, fun lil new wave album. The cover gives you a really good idea of what you're gonna listen to.
Finally got around to listening to the whole mini LP. Had this one in the beginning of my serious music listening journey, glad I got back to it with a deeper appreciation for indie, and something more stripped back.
This was very chill and clean, lost me a bit more towards the end tho.
Stumbled upon this through a friends Spotify listen, it intrigued me. So I gave it a listen, but in the end, nothing special. Octupus is good, but the rest feels like some bordeline amateur sounding folk, not the good kinda amateur unfortunately.
Nahhhh... I don't about the rest of you, but I don't wanna listen to psych that sounds like I'm having a bad trip — the songs ping-pong between decent groovy neo-psychedelia, and the artist singing in a disturbing ghostly echo-y voice that just makes me wanna skip immediately. I get that's literally psychedelia, but that type of psychedelia just isn't for me.
Not to sound like a douche but this album legitimately pissed me off. Yeah, no, still sound like a ... read more
Very, very, very solid shoegaze album. I was impressed from beginning to end, there's not one mediocre song on here!! Shout out to Grant from Hivemind! This was his top listened-to artist. All I gotta say is that man has immaculate taste.
Are you kidding me?! Some of the best indie pop I've heard in a minute. I haven't ever really listened to Taylor Swift or Gracie Abrams, but I imagine this in the same ballpark. That said, this feels really solid. I easily liked every single song in this album without a second thought. I doubt either of those artists will have the same effect on me.
It's so quintessentially indie, the flows sound so 2000s, and are really fucking catchy and joyful. And the lyrics sound so 2020s, ... read more
Solid country-pop. It’s nice to listen to an Irish artist and album of what I assume to be a quintessential "american" genre and sound. The vibe reminds me a bit of Weyes Blood—very relaxed and laid-back. Some people mention not loving the quirkier lyrics, but I'm not good at paying attention to lyrics, so I don't mind at all, and when I do I actually enjoy the cheeky Gen-Z tone.
Honestly really surprised by the banger to dud ratio. Something I'm really happy exists, despite how random that might be.
I’ve gotta say, this is exactly how I imagine my mom’s life in the Swiss-German countryside sounded—on second thought, maybe it does sound a bit more urban, like Berlin, but the vibe is there regardless.
This is the first German album I’ve ever listened to all the way through, partly thanks to Dark (the best TV show of all time). The German new wave sound is perfectly nostalgic for an era I was never even part of.
In-fucking-credible cover. The first half had me in other realm, second half really not so much. Otherwise great psych sound, exactly what I expected when I found out Kevin Parker produces this. Looks like people agree track 5 to 9 aren't up there as well.
Chill artsy folksy heaven. Genuinely really, really good. Listened to this at work and was fucking transported. Shoutout Riley from Hivemind for mentionning this band. In-fucking-credible stuff. It is a lot like BCNR (maybe even more my speed).
Edit: 85>90 I stumbled back upon Call it Easy in shuffle, and had to listen to this masterpiece again. Bitch this is art. I can't stop, it's so good. Such my vibe.
It's nothing special, I'm sorry. Don't get me wrong still good, but quite simple, and you get whatchu pay for kinda thing.
