Enjoyable album, good energy and song writing overall. You might notice that Spotify greys out one song. This is understandable but find it on YT and listen to it anyway for the full album experience.
I loved Horses, but I did not like Radio Ethiopia as much. I prefer structure, pacing, intensity and rhythmic control. By contrast this was looser, jam-based and more spontaneous. Nice background music, but there was nothing much distinct to my ear.
Distinctive and well structured. A strong performance and interesting music production create a cohesive album experience. Even though it didn't always connect emotionally for me, I did feel nevertheless entertained in those vocal, emotive moments.
Absolutely loved this. I normally dislike dense, long albums but the synths on this are just so bouncy, ecstatic and uplifting, it's incredibly satisfying. I was also worried that it would lack direction, but the chaos before the melodies is such a tease and enhances the catharsis and overall experience so much.
This is an interesting genre, but it's a little too soft and lacks direction/edge/conviction.
Lovely protopunk sound with raw and emotional vocal performance. A couple of tracks were not so good, but for 1975 this is a stellar effort. Beats that are exciting and make you feel good.
Peak sophistication, has the wonderful quality of slowing down time.
This is the kind of album that deserves opening a bottle a beautiful bottle red wine for it. It's absolutely delightful.

Does anyone remember that viral video of the woman who was being video called at the Dua Lipa concert to one of the songs on this album?
Her face -> 😄
That's my wife.
She was sat at home one day scrolling through Instagram reels and was like wtf, that's my face, scrolled back up and saw that she'd got 1.1 million likes 😂
This album was a mess, but a dream for people who live their lives through Instagram and like going to Dubai, with things like Bentley and champagne being mentioned.
Then it was something about codeine, cocaine. Okay, we get it, drugs.
Then it started wokely singing about the environment and eating disorders. Not that I'm against awareness of these things, but I come to music to enjoy it.
Not a good project. And don't go to Dubai.
Winner of a 2003 Brit album category. This must have been a year of slim pickings for albums. His vocals are much too cheery and light for a band named the darkness. It's cheesy, not too unbearable, but also not good.
A beautiful and relaxing 1 hour plus. Excellent performance. Most of the time you can take "must hear" with a pinch of salt, but Alice in Chains really are.
Good, honest and authentic. Basic, but very enjoyable jams. It never pretends to be anything it's not. It gets your head nodding to the music, which is better than what can be said for a lot of so-called must-hear albums on this site.
Good songwriting, a few nice choruses, hooks etc. Enjoyable in the end.
