i listened to this ep back in like 2021 i gotta tune back into their work, i forgot how enjoyable the guitars on this are. some songs are def stronger than others but still a pleasant listen all the way through. main vocalist can occasionally be grating but overall i think his voice really suits the music. an ep with great potential, ill have to check out their newer stuff now that i remember they exist lol.
fav song: six below
fav moment: the vocal harmonies on hippies are great
listened to this because i found a stack of them at a deadstock store right next to an even bigger pile of viva las vengance and it was like 3 bucks LMAO
its cute basic pop tunes but not very interesting to me. i dont think i revisited any of the tracks after my first listen lol but i didnt have a bad time. let gay people be mediocre too #equality #diversitywin. jk theres a handful of good moments but it kinda drags for far too long in my opinion
fav song: suckerpunch
fav moment: chorus of ... read more
i know people dont really fw the pre-stevie stuff but omg sentimental lady is top 5 songs in their entire discography. everyone say thank you mcvies!!! you can definitely feel them moving from being blues artists into what they would later becoming best known for. those yummy guitars on songs like homeward bound just scream "WE'RE GONNA WRITE RUMOURS IN 5 YEARS". i know its called bare trees, but its definitely an album in my summer rotation.

its rumours by fleetwood mac. pretty much any album that came after it wishes it was rumours by fleetwood mac. how does this have below a 90 user score???? you guys are a bunch of contrarians lmao. this has such an epic, dramatic sound to it, in a way i think few records have since achieved. absolutely ZEROOO skips. guitar work is great, stevie is an all-timer vocalist, and ooough the songwriting is to die for. an album ive bought in every possible format. if someone had never listened to an ... read more
the one and only time ive fully bawled during a concert was going to stevie nicks and hearing landslide. there was a very special moment where she slipped up and forgot some of the lyrics for a moment, and the entire crowd kept singing it word for word, and it was mystifying to me (and seemingly to her too) that the song had such a profound impact on everybody. and hearing it in her beautiful, older voice just added to much to the themes of the song. what a living legend.
anyway the rest of ... read more
absolutely NUTS that this is her debut album. such a singular sound that soo many people have tried to replicate but none quite as well. heartwrenching lyricism and vocal performance. and its got more of a groove to it than i think people give her credit for lol. why dont they play the first taste in the clubbbbb. though i must admit, every time i hear criminal i think of the family guy bit where whatshisname dresses up as fiona and sings it lmao.
fav song: the first taste

this album sharing song titles with both sabrina and olivia is so important to my teen girl heart <3
extraordinary machine might not have the same grit as an album like tidal, but i think the clean and crisp sound suits it fantastically. one of my favorite albums in terms of pure lyrical genius, fiona truly is a poet (i mean, im of the opinion that all lyricists are poets, but you know what i mean). its hard to tell its nearly an hour because it really blows by (in a good way). i know its ... read more
saw the tour for this album and loooved it. loved to hear her playing with a vocoder and things like that, she's not really an artist who steps outside of her comfort zone much so it was neat to hear something a little different, even if it is still pretty by the books faye. yachty feature was random but fun lol
fav song: thinking about you
fav moment: "thinking abouttttt youuuuuuuuu"
a cute continuation of her sound on her last album, doesn't hit quite as hard for me though. more of the good stuff from miss webster!
fav song: a dream with a baseball player
fav moment: "cuz we have conversations in my head, how did i fall in love with someone i dont know?"
when i heard pink pony club back in 2022, i tried putting eeeeeverybody i know onto her music AND NONE OF YOU BITCHES LISTENED AND NOW LOOK WHERE MY GIRL ISSSSSSS. my top streamed artist 3 years and counting im a certified stan shes literally me fr fr
my rating is certainly biased because ive been a stan for years and her music is so emotionally important to me. this is just a perfect pop album clean and simple, absolutely zero skips. dan nigro is such a spectacular producer everything he ... read more
when i went to see her live a bunch of drunk people in the pit kept yelling during jonny :( but i still enjoyed hearing it lolz
she has such a unique voice she was made to be a musician. i love this album, the instrumentation is so intimate and delicate, it sneaks its way directly into your heart. those sweet strings and gentle guitar ooooooh yeah. i do wish it was a little longer though, to really flesh everything out.
fav song: hurts me too
fav moment: the sax bit in jonny i lovee
one of the greatest vocalists ever, etta just has this sense of warmth and comfort to her voice that cannot be replicated. nostalgic, smooth, and deeply romantic. music that makes you wanna fall in love. part of me wishes the instrumentation had a bit more to it, but the simplicity really lets her voice shine.
fav song: my dearest darling
fav moment: "oh, nothing, nothing, nothing in this world can keep us apart"
this is her debut album. as in debut. like this kicked off her whole career. holy shit.
this record is spectacular at crafting its own world. the aesthetic it curates with deep acoustic instrumentation, religious imagery, and ethel's (hayden's? i know ethel is the character but its also her stage name... i will just call her ethel for simplicity) raw vocal performance are so spectacular. it makes a 10 minute song feel like it whips by in 30 seconds, without losing any depth. the ... read more
one of my favorite female vocalists ever. erykah badu you are a once in a generation talent!! its hard for me to look at this album with a super critical eye because its one of those records you just feeeeel like it punctures your soul and fills you with relaxation and wonder. behind the beautiful voice are such poignant musings on love and life. amazing work.

this album SHOULD have been a smash hit, but there was just sooo much competition when it came out. during 2024's brat-espresso-pinkpony-taylormania summer, there unfortunately just was not enough space on the cultural stage for another pop album. despite the unfortunate timing, this album is still fantastic. the hooks are HOOKINGGGG and the production is so glittery and fun. i also appreciate training season as one of the repeat songs on my old job's radio that didnt make me want to ... read more
sampling white town automatically adds +5 points in my eyes, she knows her stuff. this is just clear cut really good pop music what else can i say. one of the first pop albums i listened to when i was starting to seriously start keeping up on new releases and taking music seriously, so itll always have a place in my heart for that. when i grow up i wanna be dua lipa. just going on vacation and enjoying glittery disco pop music forever...

when i was in high school i went to a school pep assembly where some kid was playing his own club remixes of songs and for some god forsaken reason he decided to make an edm remix of king kunta to play for 2000 teenagers and it haunts me forever. anyway this is beyond spectacular.
i think what i love most about tpab is how unafraid it is to pull from unique influences; its not just a hiphop album, its a jazz album, its a funk album, its anything it wants to ... read more
why are half the reviews just talking about jamaica jerkoff grow up lmao. the first 4 songs on this album are an absolutely generational run, and the rest are fantastic too. perfectly balances deep emotional songwriting with some lighthearted bangers. what i love most is his ability to whip up a story, the writing is so rich and beautiful (goodbye yellow brick road, all the girls love alice, ballad of danny bailey, etc.). hes obviously best known for his piano (which is fair, it is ... read more
my favorite elton album, this one is so dear to me <3 i was actually shocked to see how early in his discography this one is cuz its sooo iconic. prime elton. anyway i have surprisingly little to say considering this is one of my favorite albums ever. the writing is spectacular, rocketman is classic, love it. his voice is so unique and emotive. honky cat is one of my go-to karaoke songs so do with that information what you will.
favorite song: amy (also my fav in his whole discography)

i gotta tap into some more bossa nova because i absolutely adore this! i wanna do a full relisten with lyricsl translations pulled up if i cant find some. elis regina has an absolutely stunning voice, and the instrumentation on this is so light and beachy i could just sunbathe in the sounds. fantastic.
fav song: águas de março
fav moment: i enjoy their chemistry so much, the bit about 3 minutes into ÁDM where you can just hesr the smile in her voice sooo cuteeee
