"@Mellesteen the deciding factor is carti is not involved in my life or anyones i know. tf am i supposed to do abt carti beating his girl? not listen to his music? fuck that because id be a hypocrite if i didnt stop listening to half of the artists from my favorite genre. i dont care about one domestic abuse involving people i dont know that deeply, not that hard to comprehend. and once again why are you even writing a review for a trap album if you're gonna go on a rant about not supporting bad people this whole post is completely pointless."
"@Mellesteen it's not "too much work" im not gonna react to the evil shit carti did cause its not of my business esp as long as his music bangs. dont even know why you're writing a review for a trap artist if youre so uptight abt morals like jesus christ this genre of music is named after selling hard drugs. not to mention you somehow snuck in marxism on a thread about playboi carti how white could you possibly get"
"tf carti being a bad person gotta do with me? like 60% of the rappers i listen to were prolly involved in some evil shit and like 80% if we're judging rappers by who they're deeply affiliated with"
"@Rollo_P you have every right not to listen to music that contains transphobic material, especially considering it may offend people you know irl. However, it's completely hypocritical to uptake a particular issue with transphobia WITHOUT criticizing the other themes surrounding Gangster/Trap/Drill rap. Personal discomforts is understandable, but taking a moral issue with rap that promotes transphobia, without keeping your standards consistent with everything else is what i find really confusing. Street rap just simply isn't the category of music that you can attempt to place moral standards on, while also enjoying the genre, without coming across as a massive hypocrite."
"@HattieJosh huh????? jfc what the hell are you even talking about? are you sure you’re not responding to the wrong guy? where tf did that word even come from?"
"@HattieJosh no im “whining” because im confused over your sense of priorities. how is transphobia too far but you’re fine with glorification of gun violence, violent misogyny, and drug dealing?"
"@HattieJosh brodie cant read 5 lines 😭 theres literally a max character limit in replies to prevent yapping.
and in the words of Ice Cube, "You little maggot, Eazy-E turned f*****".
Also how exactly am I a bigot? when did I say anything in defense of transphobia or homophobia?"
"@HattieJosh please shut about that lmao. When rappers continue to actively participate in the violence and drama even after they're rich and famous, it becomes very obvious that their music is not some grand deeper perspective on street life, but rather glorification to play off the massive media outcry and controversy over their violent lyrics leading to their success. It's glorification. Not only that, but a lot of these rappers would still continue to beef and kill each other. Not to say there isn't any social commentary, N.W.A certainly had a fair amount of that, but using that as a defense to the violent lyrics becomes void when these rappers are still very much involved with violence, or at least heavily associated with it."
"@HattieJosh how are you going to act like transphobia isn't considerably tamer than damn near any other topic in the album? i don't understand how people that listen to this genre regularly get upset when something morally wrong is said? do you not pay attention to damn near everything else?"
"@HattieJosh what do the lyrics being dated compared to modern values have to do with anything? how tf you gonna listen to songs about glorifying street shit and then get upset over something like transphobia"
