Dinosaur Jr. is the absolute king of “even in this mid ass song, we’ll have a fucking incredible guitar solo”.
An album with one of the greatest openers of all time and followed by a song that to me feels 90s out of its mind, Without a Sound is, even when it gets loud, a calm and relaxing experience that has me tapping my foot a lot.
It’s not particularly filled with awesome songs, but there’s not really major misses. It keeps the same atmosphere and sound ... read more
An empty waste of time.
The songs are just so nothing. I’m not necessarily bored by the songs, they just feel so void of substance. There is nothing going on; every song is a deflated balloon. Every song I just go “yeah, okay”. I remember when I first heard Afterlife and I was disappointed. I thought it might just be a miss, I did NOT expect it to be the best song on the album. Afterlife is one of the few moments I smell some personality. Louisiana has real potential if it ... read more
I’m not a fan at all of the style and vibe and like all of what this new album is shaping to be. These nothing, nothing songs, I don’t like them. I fucking hate when he says hey yeah.
Anyways though, it is, not bad. It’s just so mediocre. The new album is shaping up to be so fucking mediocre. I went to mediocre town and everybody was listening to this shit.
The acoustic version is much much better than this. I don’t like how he sings, the production, the effect on his voice, and that stupid fucking “hello”. Still sounds okay I guess.
It’s not well written, and I’m not a huge fan of the chorus, but just for the positive cultural effect this had on the world and for its catchiness, I quite like it. It sounds good, and those drums are fucking sick. Chorus mid and I don’t like how she says “I’m thinking”, it’s dumb. But good song!! Yay!! Wow!!!
I do not wanna swing with you dude.
This kind of sucks? I do not like this song. I really dislike the lyrics and how he sings them. Why are you doing that? Can you stop? Can you stop singing? I don’t like how it sounds.
The instrumental, especially at the end, is neat, but can’t save this poor song.
Generously mediocre. A sort of generic, uninteresting punk album.
My main issue are that the vocals and lyrics, most of the time, don’t interest me at all. Every time the background vocals kick in, I throw up. I hate the background vocals. There’s times when I’m actually enjoying the song, like on Cut Through It he shouts “Work another day for a meager wage” and it sounds awesome, then other people shout “Can’t do it” and it sounds like shit. I ... read more
So this Will Collins fella likes to mumble real hard when he sings. The vocals are, on every track, softer, and whiny, which I think works. I find it charming here. I was pleasantly surprised through how impressed I was in the end. Teenage Dreams is a lovely song, definitely the best one here. It’s catchy and sounds awesome. Teenage Dreams is definitely the best example of how these whiny vocals work perfectly. This is a good EP. It’s a real recent release from, what is now, a ... read more
This is kind of dull. I don’t really dig how it sounds at all. The instrumental is just kind of annoying? And not special or impressive at all. I don’t like this song. It’s not terrible and the chorus is pretty okay. That sequence where he keeps rhyming things with ean I didn’t like that shit one bit no thanks. Yeah it’s okay, and on the lower end of okay.
My adoration and my love for Duster is never ending.
Discovering the tired band in 2023, I was bombarded with memes depicting some random sad fuck, with the song Me and the Birds. I think I shazam’d that mofo somewhere along the way and played it as a joke. I didn’t think of it in the sense it was real music, just a funny song in memes or some shit along those lines. Upon eventually playing their other stuff “holy shit this is actually really great”

Often seen as the magnum opus of of Montreal. I, however, do not find this to be true. While I have only listened to two records, I find this one to be lesser than Cherry Peel.
See, Hissing Fauna has its own completely unique and original sound, and where is succeeds, IT REALLY FUCKING DOES. The first half of this record is so insanely incredible, I was sure this was a huge step up from Cherry Peel. They have ditched the 60-70s sound and found something more unique and even better, yippee!! ... read more
It is good and I times I can really dig it. It feels partially lacking in substance and at times generic. I liked it but there is a lot of room to improve. I dig the voice mails and juxtaposition from intense punk to calm spoken word. It’s neat, but lacks in replay value and memorability.
Today is the 20th anniversary of this album, so yeah I’ll review it in celebration I guess.
With an intro fresh out of the Luigi’s Mansion OST, Demon Days is a beloved album to say the least, people quite like it. Demon Days has been on my “need to review” list for quite a while. I’ve listened to a lot of Gorillaz hits, and I really like them, but now that I’ve actually listened to an entire album, and probably their best one, what did I think of it? ... read more

My oh My, oh how thrilled I am to be the very FIRST soul to review this mother fucker. oh golly oh jolly.
Anyways, The Proclaimers amirite? They made that one song about miles even though they’re like fucking Scottish, don’t you fellas use Kilometers? Beats me, I’m American, being ignorant of other countries is part of the gig. Anyway back in 2019 I listened to Angry Cyclist ... read more
A neato compilation of bite-sized melodies and little dees that I did enjoy quite a significant bit. While some of their short lengths can be justified as that’s just how long the song needed to be, for others, they simply need to be extended, their current runtimes are not enough. Some dits are really really nice and there isn’t necessarily a miss here. Duster dustered all over this shit and I’m straight up consuming like a good boy, that’s all there is to say.
Uninteresting album, I found sort of alright here and again, with 2Maro being its best and only really notable song.
Individual track overview:
If Onederful didn’t curse it would commonly be played in youth groups across America.
2Maro is actually pretty great, I loved it. the chorus is actually good (unlike the other choruses on this album) and the trumpets work really well.
Miss3d Calls is interesting I guess, but not anything special.
Public School is a bad song, I hate the beat a ... read more
Oh yes I’m proud of my son, oh yes I’m putting the ram in the ramalamadingdong.
Well. The album I was waiting a hot huge one for. Well.
Well.
It’s fucking spectacular. I’ll say that much. It’s fucking spectacular. I loved this album so much, I could not have asked for any much more. This is the perfect direction for the band, in every sense. The Scholars feels to me to be exactly what was necessary now, it needed to avenge the disappointing (but really good and ... read more
Does this song put the ram in the ramalamadingdong? You can bet your sweet ass it does.
I genuinely think of the singles, this is the best one. It’s just so upbeat, so satisfying in how it gets loud exactly when it should. Will screamy ah want. This is so amazing. I think the album will be awesome.
