——RE-REVIEW——
Oh God.. this album is so much more than I ever thought it was. An absolutely fucking spectacular album, 24 Hour Revenge Therapy is probably the best punk record I’ve ever heard. This is fucking spectacular, I cannot stress that enough. There are no misses, every song is great beyond what I can stress. Every instrument, the lyrics; the fucking writing!! I love the words!! I love the fucking words!!! And how he says the words… oh how he says ... read more
I liked it! Not gonna lie, She’s in Parties got my hopes up, and even with the project being quite pleasant, since my expectations were high, I can’t help but be pretty disappointed. There’s some standout tracks, She’s in Parties is obviously a perfect song, Antonin Artaud and Honeymoon Croon are really good and Hope works very well as a closer. The other songs? They drag on and feel substance-less, I don’t feel much of anything with them. I was excited for the ... read more
I think it is better than Gethsemane. I really dig this a lot. It’s a good song to shake erratically to. I was particularly a huge fan the vocals here. Great song. I’m really fucking excited for this album and I think this and Gethsemane is enough chicken feed to hold me over until May 2nd.
A really solid debut album from Chappell Roan with some high fucking highs but also only fine and decent songs there. It’s not a super consistent record and a few songs can be a real bore. She has an absolutely spectacular voice and the instrumental on some songs such as HOT TO GO! are just fucking incredible. I can appreciate the queerness and the horniness of it all, and some songs are really just the mood. Overall, a good project, but could be better, just a few kinks to iron out.
An absolutely INCREDIBLE record from Duster. Together is an underrated masterpiece and deserves intense credits for just being so fucking good. Together to me seems to be a bit urrgyer and darker than the previous albums before it, a newer sound, if you will, and you will I just made you.
I wish I could make you like this too because it’s awesome sauce.
The individual songs are great and all compete very much with previous Duster songs. The wrenchingly perfect song, Familiar Fields, ... read more
Yeah, I cried to this a good share.
Cherry Peel is a wondrous most beautiful piece of thing I ever did see. I just can’t keep my shit together with this playing. The lyrics, the instrumentals, the fucking astonishing vocals. This is just beautiful in every sense of the word. While the album falls off a bit in the second half (the exception being Tim I Wish You Were Born A Girl) it’s still really good, and the first have just kills me to bits so much that I have to highly rate the ... read more
This album is the soundtrack to my backyard when it’s dark out. A few months back, I had never listened to The Strokes, I would hear about them a lot and heard people compare them to car seat headrest (my favorite band at the time, and honestly at this time too). They seemed too mainstream or something, but for whatever bullshit reason I had in my head at the time I never listened. I later watched a YouTube video of a guy doing the Buddy Holly lick on different songs and one song stood ... read more
A lot of the same gripes I have with Lincoln. It has some real promise and some great songs, but god, a whole lot of mediocrity and uninteresting songs. It started with 4 great songs (I like when albums have themes or intros, this one was good) but after those 4, it’s not good anymore! The second half especially is a total dip in quality. I was, once again disappointed by a They Might Be Giants record. These guys show they can make great music, Ana Ng, Kiss Me Son Of God, Birdhouse In ... read more
A very very pretty and cute EP. I quite like this. I’m not a huge fan of the male vocalist, I just think the other one sings much better and the songs only she sings on are better. This was a really pleasant experience and I recommend it. The Best Days We Used To Have and I Wonder Why My Favorite Boy Leaves Me in the Rain are great songs.
Not nearly as bad as I thought it’d be. The lyrics are kinda dumb, but it genuinely doesn’t sound half bad, and Jack Black is a good singer. I actually like the song, even if “the creepers scream and shout” makes me throw up a little. The guitar solo is great, would’ve done without that “craftin” bit in there. I think there’s a cowbell here too, that’s pretty cool. So yeah, corny and stupid lyrics, but its for the fucking minecraft movie so.
90—>87
I still adore this to bits, but 90 is a lot and I wanna remain somewhat consistent in my ratings.
I was absolutely blown away. I did not expect this to be nearly as spectacular as it was. Easily the best numbered album. It starts and ends so strongly, and never misses once. Who Even Knows and Even The Who Knows are fucking beautiful (me when a song is about fathers). Feel Like Daniel Johnston is—unfortunately—a song I greatly connect with. The Ghost of Bob Saget is ... read more
I found it pretty neat. The fact it is improvised makes the whole thing more interesting and I think the EP seems to achieve what it is trying to pretty well! Unfortunately the improvisation makes it lack direction and I think it doesn’t get a real grip until after the first song. I could very much see Oh… but I don’t mind and To discover a name is to discover power fitting in the soundtrack of a film when an eerie scene begins. Neat is definitely the best word I can come up ... read more
This album said 7-Eleven more than I expected.
Most of the songs start and I’m like “okay this is dumb” but then I listen for 20 more seconds and it’s like “fine I like it :3”.
I can’t help but kinda adore this album even though part of me tries to dislike it, like One Million Dollars is such a fucking stupid ass song, but like it’s awesome. Frog On The Floor just puts a smile on my face. I catch myself quickly nodding along to the songs even if ... read more
What a boring lil experience. A lot of the songs are incredibly uninteresting and forgettable, and the songwriting is typically pretty poor. Cancel Me is absolutely abysmal, I hate the death out of it, and Chicken Tenders somehow drags on as a 2 minute song. All the songs just feel like another Dominic Fike song, not special and just eh, like a lot of really boring ways to utilize interesting aspects in music, untapped potential really. But here’s some of the positives: It could be much ... read more
Rated a while ago and am finally getting around to reviewing it. This is unbelievably spectacular. This is genuinely one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. It’s too good, I’m way too impressed.
It’s pretty alright. I was kinda unimpressed but it’s still good. The guitar here can get pretty incredible and the overall instrumentals are a huge highlight. The vocals are where most of my issues lie, sometimes they feel too weak and I think it could benefit from getting louder at times.
The album starts off really strong with two amazing tracks but quickly falls off and then stays that way. Get Me starts off pretty good and I’m kinda digging it until the chorus plays and ... read more
This album makes me wanna be held. This album makes me wanna sprawl out in the garden bed and decompose.
Contemporary movement is utter perfection in every aspect, it is genuinely a life-changing masterpiece. I cannot express how intertwined I am with this album; I can use buzzwords and superlatives but there is no genuine way to word my adoration and connection to this record (guys I said record instead of album, it’s serious). Contemporary Movement is an album for during and after ... read more
This album is very dear for me. I overheard it a lot in the car growing up. I’m not sure how these songs haven’t gotten old to me, Spiderhead was literally my second most played song in 2024, I played that shit 245 times, like what the fuck. Such a a great album.
Hey y’all. So yeah I don’t like this song at all. I like Chappell Roan’s music and especially her as a person, I think she’s cool as fuck, but yeah this song is bad. The vocals are good, she’s a great singer and did well singing here, but this instrumental is just godawful. From the instrumental to the lyrics this entire song feels like a meaningless “hey what if I made a country song”. I’d be a liar with my pants on fire if I said it did not ... read more
